SW1
It's been a while since this has been updated. I've been working on my Inquisition stuff recently and the guard have been slowly bubbling away on a back burner. I managed to get hold of 9 of the bare chested Ogryn/Bulgryn bodies and currently bodging the different arms to fit on them when I get a spare few minutes. Once they're sorted I'll do a few pics. What I have done recently is convert 10 Priests out of a box of Flagelants I've had sitting a cupboard for ages. Simply chopping off the chain top of the flails and replacing with some really old chainswords. These will be usable in my Guard Force but won't be saved for the ETL as they are armed with Evisorators that are only available to the =][= Priests. ;) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/301374-dragging-the-guard-back-out-ogryn-chop-shop-pg-13/page/16/#findComment-4201205 Share on other sites
our_baz
They look so cool, 10 lunatic priests with big choppy things running at you...ok I repent .Very simple and most effective kit bash, most things look better with a chainsword attached. WarriorFish
I'm feeling left out! Everyone has being doing cool priests of late and my Guard army doesn't really have any... Funny how just a chainsword makes them look 40k. Helps that priests are pretty ramshackle and crazy at the best of times :P Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/301374-dragging-the-guard-back-out-ogryn-chop-shop-pg-13/page/16/#findComment-4201375 Share on other sites
SW1
Currently making them more 40k with addition of sidearm and pouches. Never used any pouches on my marines so there's a rather large stash of them. I've found some laspistol looking holstered guns rather than the bulky bolt pistols so they don't look any more cartoonish. Really trying to get the grim dark look rather than over the top cartoon look. SW1
Here's a group shot of them now I've got them assembled completely escorting Lady Illa: Individual pics (front and back) of each Priest has been stuck in my WIP thread. If you have a gander I think Father E (not got names yet) is my favourite currently. He's the aggressive looking of the bunch. :D Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/301374-dragging-the-guard-back-out-ogryn-chop-shop-pg-13/page/16/#findComment-4202014 Share on other sites
SW1
You may think that that's more than enough Priests. But someone's found more bodies to convert. I think I may save them to do some Guard versions instead of more Evisorator ones. Though let's face it they could just be big old chainswords and pistol. I'm probably going to have a look at trying to merge some Catachan arms onto them. If it works I'll have a bunch of Priests for the Guard. If not it's more =][= fodder. ;) Really need to sort out my guard. I've got 10 of the same Ogryn/Bullgryn bodies (the one without a vest top) waiting for me to chop shop the different arms onto them. Bit of gs'ing and all's good with the world fit wise. Just need to get on with it. Really need to source another 10 of that body and then 20 each of the other two bodies. Then the wave of abhuman fun will happen. :D Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/301374-dragging-the-guard-back-out-ogryn-chop-shop-pg-13/page/16/#findComment-4203294 Share on other sites
SW1
My eldest has been in hospital recently and there was a few sleepless nights. So I put the old nervous energy to good use and sorted through 500 or 600 Ogryn/Bullgryn parts, it seems my first assessment on the number of sets of arms I've got may be a bit low or I'm missing some important bits. So I started cleaning and assembling some of the guns so there's less bits to get lost as well work out if I've got everything I need. I'm expecting to be able to source some of the bodies soonish, so full assembly will happen soon!!! ;) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/301374-dragging-the-guard-back-out-ogryn-chop-shop-pg-13/page/16/#findComment-4211917 Share on other sites
SW1
Hmmm ... Well I didn't source those Ogryn bodies quite as quickly as I'd planned. I got a little sidetracked with my brothers scenery and some SW's. Both projects are current and incomplete/barely started. Lol ... It doesn't sound like any of my other projects, honest!!! ;) So after 5 months I think I've made a breakthrough with sourcing enough bodies and the missing arm bits to crack on with building the Ogryns. Not sure exactly what I'll do with 50 - 60 Ogryns other than make a rather abhuman themed army which won't really do that game wise (who am I kidding I never game anymore so why worry on that score). But it should fit in with my Rogue Trader force theme quite well. :p I'm hoping it won't be another 5 months before my next entry on here.
