MaliGn Posted January 3, 2015 Share Posted January 3, 2015 I've been planning these for a while and took advantage of the holiday period to finally make a start on them. I chose to give them the mark of Slaanesh as I have regularly been facing Eldar and the initiative boost seemed worth it to avoid having them all killed before striking against even guardians. To this end I have used several parts from the fantasy helstriders and selected the parts of the possessed kit that featured the typical crab like claws often associated with the dark prince. MaliGn Posted January 12, 2015 Author Share Posted January 12, 2015 Got some basecoats on these, so far an overbrush of administratum grey, then I've blocked in the armour plate with khorne red, the mutated fleshy parts with daemonette hide and the bone, parchment and cloth areas with mournfang brown. I'm planning to do the daemonic parts in pale turquoisey blues and pale purples/lilacs but I am a little unsure which way around to go, fade from red to blue or jar into blue and then become purple. I think the latter will look more jarring to the eye, but i suspect it will be harder to pull off well. Any input that might help me decide, I may yet build a different champion, possibly using a gal vorbak as a base so it may not be that important. MaliGn Posted July 5, 2015 Author Share Posted July 5, 2015 Okay so, I've made progress, photos are again from the phone in evening daylight, but still wip so they'll do for now. I've got four done bar the backpacks and added a Vrosh Tattersoul conversion to a) bulk the squad out to slaanesh's sacred number (oldemperor's children player) and b) make a more fitting champion than my original. To match a theme running through my army he'll have abone helmet and black breastplate, unfortunately this means relegating the idea of the hourglass on the demoted possessed, or buying loads more flagellants to get more for the rest of the squad. I've put them on 32mm bases and the mosaic on their bases loosely joins up over an icon of slaanesh, and again suits the army theme, I've used one of the edge paints for the runes on the tiles, the equivalent of Lucius Lilac.
