Naked Photoshoot - Which pose is best? *Updated pics*

Recommended Posts

Hi all, just wanting to get people's opinion on how to pose my Castigator knight, no forgeworld poses here please!

I've posed her in two positions so far, so votes on first or second please, but if you have any other suggestions let me know.

First:

I call this pose the "Butchering of a Rhino's occupants" look. She's looking down at a Rhino she's just stomped, imagining all the traitor legionnaires rushing from the hatch while she skewers them, Astartes kebab anyone?

Second:

In this pose she's taking a step back from the close quarter fighting, preferring to rain down her scorn upon her enemies from afar. she could be standing on anything in this pose, a rhino, rock whatever, it's just to show off her legs!

Help me make a decision, and the next time you see her she may have her clothes on!

id say first as well, but it looks abit stiff honestly and the head tilt and gun pointed straight up abit weird... id say lessen the head bend abit and lean the torso in for a more natural posture, along with lowering the gun to a more relaxed "down by her side" pose where it can feel big and weighty. it would also give a more predatory stance i feel, with the current gun-arm in that sorta "ill just casually strike a heroic pose to impress my enemies" (very al'a oldschool space marine models), yet the rest of the almost mini-diorama (which is awesome) does not fit that at all

Well that heading was misleading msn-wink.gif I like the second one best, though if she were clothed I might change my mind.

Well she'll be armourclad soon enough, so you'll get to see.

Looks like the general consensus is the first pose, which is amusing as I had originally intended the second pose be how she'd be stood.

I agree about the head, I'll try and get it repositioned. as for the pistons, guess I'll just have to try me best!

I agree with carnosaur on this - the first pose is best, but there's some things that make it look a little unnatural. I actually think the gun arm should stay up for the purpose of composition, but at less of an extreme angle - more of a 45-degree angle to the ground, and also angled out from the body, diagonally? That would communicate a sort of aware, ready position, curious and predatory but not tense. I see it like some T-Rex going in for a bite of helpless herbivore...

Anyway, really love your idea here, and can't wait to see more.

Appreciate the feedback everyone, I've some extra shots of the good lady and she's posed as you asked.

First up, gun down:

Second is gun up, but she's a bit more relaxed:

The pistons between thigh and body are going to be a pain, but I think I can manage to work it.  The boltcannon ammo feed should be easy enough to make fit with a bit of heat applied.

So again everyone, do you prefer my girl in pose one or two? Let me know!

Cheers for all your help guys, I'm now in the process of getting her in dress and makeup. For the moment though, here's a pic of her and her (slightly) older sister. You can really see the size difference

I like them both and see strengths and weaknesses in each. I'd go with the 1st pose for a display piece or if she'll face tons of infantry and rarely other stuff, 2nd is more general game-table pose especially if she ends up on flyer takedown duty or fighting superheavies often. Of course that can be hard to predict.
