First of all...given that this came out early 2014, pre-End Times but not that much earlier, do we suppose BL released it intentionally to precede the whole End Times arc? Would make sense to have something about Archaon out before his big foray into the Warhammer world... Secondly, judging by a quick scan of Goodreads I seem to be completely opposite to most other people in thinking that this had an awesome first half, and a really, genuinely disappointing second half. I've rarely read a BL book so harrowing and heartbreakingly character-driven as the first few chapters of this were, but to me the second half just degenerated into poorly-paced generic Chaos bobbins. I don't want to spoil anything so won't say more, but what does anyone else think? Am I missing something?
