I used to think that but now I'm painting them and enjoying it!

Its more of a "What they Represent" reason for me hating them. They're the one who :cuss ed stuff up and, to me, are the ultimate failures as Astartes :p

That was my problem, along with some awful characters, but there is a lot of depth in the whole arch traitor thing that can be explored, BL have just skimmed the surface and made moustache twirlers (withhe exception of Argel Tal)

I think Argal Tal might be my favourite character from the Heresy. I'm quite happy with how the WB have been handled by BL actually, especially ADB. Although, I hate Erebus with a passion.

It's the none ADB bits that I'm not a massive fan of. It's just a bit to much evil bad guy hell bent on power. They don't even come across as zealots, just super evil bad guys. Only ADB has made me believe they have a faith driving them forwards.

I think I might have to withdraw my vow to work on something else. The Brother Argos Appreciation Army was just announced earlier today, but the mods have been talking about it for a while now. I volunteered to do the figure to represent Brother Argos and didn't know it had been 'approved' until the posting in the NRBA forum. I've been a member here since October of 2002 and Brother Argos is to thank for keeping my favorite 40k board going for that long, so I want to focus on that figure and do the best job I can.

Everyone hates the poor Word Bearers because BL have made them so detestable as villains, haha. Pure evil. But, it's not about which legion are the most relatable, it's about who are the most fun to model and convert. And the Word Bears are full of conversion opportunities.

 

Anyway, if anyone's read my plog, they'd know I'm going for a chapter of scouring-era word bearers who are a bit over the whole zealotry thing, but see chaos as the only realistic way for man to survive. Because I love argel tal and want to eat my cake too.
