As in Marine skin or actual Shark Skin?

Space sharks are just normal skin tones in images I've seen. Any flesh tutorial should help.

Space Shark skin looks, from the fluff images, like shark skin

From what I've seen Space Sharks have a greyish/whiteish hue to their skin a bot like Ravenguard and often have facial tattoos.

From the Warp has a fantastic tutorial on how to paint skin like that.

Thanks

If you're talking about the modern Space Sharks, they're supposed to have grey skin. It's described as "lifeless" and "corpse-like". I think that's from the short story. So while IA leads you to believe they are marble white like the Raven Guard, all we know for certain is that they are pretty pale, and most likely grey skinned to match the shark theme.

I tried Ron's technique from From the Warp, but I'm not a good painter like him so it didn't look very similar. He doesn't specify what "light grey" to use and the photo shows Slate Grey from a brand I don't see many painters using so I think it's going to take some experimenting to get it to look like his Telion and Scout. I think his is a perfect grey because it's very pale like RG should be, but it's slightly grey like a shark.

I think a bone/cream color with a drybrush of 50/50 white and cream would work. Then do a highlight of just white and do a *super* thin wash of ice blue over the face would make it look about right.

If not, ask the guy who does the awesome Flesh Eaters army, his faces would work.

The problem with a cream is that it's a faintly yellowish tint and thus it's a warm color.  Ron's tutorial goes pretty well into depth on that, and judging by the pictures, I'm more convinced that Pallid Wych Flesh or a color of a similar value is the best base, followed by that thin blue wash.

The Wolf Scout I did was Fenrisian Grey with a Blue Horror highlight and then a thin wash that was half black/half blue.  It's probably bluer than what you'd want for shark skin (I was going more for a Frost Giant sort of skin tone).

You might want to experiment with a blue-grey wash over lighter skin tones, with a dark primer undercoat.

I have a Wolf Guard Scout pack leader painted up to look like Lobo - the tone may be a bit lighter than you want but a similar technique.

Basecoat Ulthuan Grey, shade with a 30/20/50 mix of Nuln Oil , Drakenhof Nightshade & Lahmian medium (1 Brushload equals 10 ;) ) Highlight up through Ulthuan Grey to White Scar.

That should get you a nice grey skin :tu:

Thanks for responding I will probably try to get it to look more corpse like

I'll add my support to the "fromthewarp" method; it's produces a very satisfying grey skin that complements tatooing and worked rather well on this pre-heresy XIX Terran veteran...

One alternative that gives a more naturally pallid look is the one I used on this cherub;

It's a base coat of a 1:1 mix of Ushabti Bone and Rakarth Flesh, followed by two heavy washes, firstly of purple and then of green. You then drybrush some of the original mix on top and it's done. Sounds a bit counter-intuitive, but it gives a really grey, unhealthy look...
