Kelborn
Wait a second.... You're talking about what the Jackals are doing after their disappearance, right? So, we're still in M31/32 or lately M33, right? Why are we talking about THE Behemoth? The 'Nids appeared in about M39-40 (if you don't count those little previous ambushes). In canonverse, the 'Nids lured to this galaxy because of the Pharos. What happened in our version which could have attracted them? Skalpynock
We disregard the Pharos theory, and go with the original implication that they're after the Astronomican? bluntblade
I'd rather keep the Tyranids to a glimpse in Icarion's vision. On another note, can we have a particular nasty character called Bar'adrook? Yeah, I'm not being as strict with the future talk with the Jackels since there is so little about them known and because they're one of the few legions who could theoretically be replaced. Again, this will probably change soon with Invictus' return. Kelborn
Ok. Was a bit afraid that we will skip the entire timeline with the 'Nids coming up way earlier. ;) Jackals could send some Nomad Predation Fleets or something like that for example, resulting in a couple of successor chapters. Could imagine Wyllem as the guardian of the edge with his legion spread across the borders of the Imperium... if he would not turn independent of course. ^^ Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/305770-ex-il-stygian-jackals/page/3/#findComment-4406145 Share on other sites
Skalpynock
So, as we're discussing the possibility of comissioning a piece featuring all primarchs, and the artistically-minded here providing reference sketches, I ask: what do the Jackel and his wargear look like? MikhalLeNoir
I envisioned him always as a blend of those. But the main aspects I saw from darth malak ( although a long haired primarch would be cool) http://static4.comicvine.com/uploads/scale_small/11114/111140132/4512695-malak.jpg http://static.giantbomb.com/uploads/scale_small/7/70202/1829775-big_steel_jaw_of_summer_fun.png http://image.bolterandchainsword.com/uploads/gallery/album_11905/med_gallery_92945_11905_266703.jpeg http://static.zerochan.net/Uchiha.Madara.full.1986209.jpg Edited August 3, 2016 by MikhalLeNoir Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/305770-ex-il-stygian-jackals/page/3/#findComment-4457000 Share on other sites
Praefectus Invictus
That sounds interesting but I'm not sure the Jackels could survive the numerous threats of the galaxy on their own, let alone the first Hive Fleet. Depending on their respective locations in the galaxy maybe this prompts the Jackals to join the Suzerainity to survive? Willym, assuming he survives the Nids, could become the Suzerainity's main military honcho, Jade being the Scientist and Kozja governing? Whatsmore, three empires is already perfectly enough, we don't want them to proliferate surely ? However, I'm not sure if I can see Willym either governing his own empire or joining a new one either. I'd see him just going off in his own corner to do his own thing, right, but not another empire. This is how I envisioned them after they left the greater conflict. They have a string of strongholds far out on the Eastern Fringe, but they still launched raids against imperial, traitor and suzerainty forces. I envisioned him always as a blend of those. Kelborn
Think that it should be one event instead of two within a couple of years. I must admit that I haven't read Pharos and therefore, I'm not familiar with it but as I've noticed it, the destruction of the Pharos was such an immense psychic reaction that it lured the 'Nids in here. So, Prospero might not be enough although two Primarchs died there. Fall of Madrigal...does the BotL version as well has the imperial attempt to construct a webway? Madrigals fall and the destruction of such a powerful engine could create a feedback powerful enough to be of interest for the 'Nids.
