ETL IV is coming...

I was planning to spend the latter half of the month painting my second DV tactical squad, but instead I will spend it assembling and maybe priming units for the ETL.

Now I just need to decide how to configure some of these units.

I'm in. I've got a couple of conversions (Azzy and Belial) with a PA Comd Squad that I want to get painted up, a DWK squad that I have just washed (hope that'll be ok...), a couple of devastator squads primed, a whole RWAS (with AB and LS Typhoon) as well as a biker Libby conversion I am working on...

It'll be my first ETL and RL has a lot on, so I think I will drip feed what I can to try and bring the points up.

For the Lion!

I'm in again this year. Not too sure how much I'll be painting up though. I've just started down the long, painful path of tall scaling, and is it ever time consuming.

If the deadline is looming, I have my old metal Azzy, Asmodai as well as DW who's 20 year old paint jobs could use a good strip

10 man tactical squad primed and ready to go.

I have all of my bases finished.

Chaplain and Chapter master on standby for wave 2.

Waiting on summer campaign to see before making anymore purchases.

If it's just a codex  release I'll probably be getting the DA Expansion.

For all thats taking part in ETL how about we give ourselves a punishment if anyone of us fail?

We are after all the 1st, Never Falter, Never Fail!!!! tongue.png

After reading some of the threads on here - I think the DA are in for a lot more punishment as it is.

Punishment in the form of D-strength Eldar and new shiney new Admech toys.

What kind of punishment do you have in mind?

I'm in, too, with some Terminator-squads, a Fortress of Redemption and a Stormraven, maybe some tactical marines after that. But in the meantime I still have one question concerning the rules - is it legal to enter with models to which I already applied primer / undercoating?

Quick question Semper

I plan to vow for Dark Angels, and paint up a bunch of stuff for that
Does this also exclude me from doing another vow later for Epic as an out of competition vow?

Nope. As an Out of Competition Vow, it has no standing in regards to the outcome of the event. As long as they're board-appropriate, it'll be all good.

What Jono said.

One of the purrposes of out-of-competition entries is to cater for non-40k, board compatible minis. As such your Epic stuff is most welcome! smile.png

Cheers for clearing that up fellas

Now the countdown begins

I will be in again this year. I have just started some Adeptus Mechanicus allies, but I am sure I can find something green to paint smile.png

Do the ETL rules let you paint for more than one faction?

Like Skitarii...  Ever since I started Dark Angels I have had this odd urge to field a force of DA with additional Adeptus Mechanicus elements.  I put my Samael escort on 30k bikes, I have been eyeballing a few Sicaran tanks and now that Skitarii are out I just could not resist buying some of them to ally with my Dark Angels.  It is so rough thinking about a DA pledge while I am assembling Skitarii models.

Nope. Skitarii Codex will be the defining Codex for the Mechanicum. No allies in the ETL. You have to make a choice which faction to support. Sometimes this is any easy choice, sometimes it's hard. ;)

It's easy. Vow the Skitarii as Counts-as Dark Angels. Vow footsloggers as Tacts, or Vets, the walkers as Dreads, you get the picture, as long as the models are of comparable size it should be all good. How they're costed is what matters, not what the finished paint job looks like.

Cheers,

Jono
