Billy Butcher
So as one of my many current projects in about to start (very slowly) an imperial fists heresy army. First thing to do was decide on a yellow recipe. The one I really liked was based on aridmonk's so here's the latest how to. It's another airbrush recipe, and I use tamiya paints, for airbrushing they're brilliant. I primed the mini then base coated it with flat earth. Then paint the mini flat yellow Then, using clear orange, airbrush where you think the shadows should be, this needs to be subtle, you can touch things up with the flat yellow after if you went overboard. Then hit it with a few coats of thinned tamiya clear yellow. This softens the orange, deepens the yellow and brings the colours together. I forgot to take a picture of this, although the above pics might be at this stage - doh! Then I gloss it, oil wash with burnt sienna, Matt coat it and done. The pictures don't really convey how good these look, and they're quick to do, I might tweak a few things but this is going to be the basis of my fists colour scheme.
