ETL IV - SECOND WEEKLY UPDATE

Alright. Time for my second Vow.

This time it is themed "Heroes of the Chapter"

 

I, stuka06, rise to the challenge of E TENEBRAE LUX IV and vow to complete the following units from Codex: Dark Angels, to a total value of 610 points, on or before 1st August 2015:

 

• 5 Company Veterans with 4 Combi Weapons and a Heavy Bolter and a Razorback 
• 1 Dreadnought with Assault Canon and Powerfist in a Drop Pod
• 1 Dreadnought with a Twin-linked Laser Canon and a Missile Launcher
• 1 Venerable Dreadnought with 2 Twinlinked Auto Canons

Success will bring eternal glory to the First Legion, whilst failure will doom me to wear the Badge of the Oathbreaker until the year-end!

 

Couple of notes. 

I will restart on the Dreadnoughts. I started painting them before I tested my new colors. They are all messed up. I will also finish the 3 other company veterans, but I didn't calculate any points for them, since they are so far along. I have 2 more vows planned, but I have to see how this one goes.

I have completed vow #1 to what I consider to be a respectable table top standard. Two full trips to chamber hot tub 42 (filled with Simple Green) were required to determine how to properly apply the base coat and wash, both which were new techniques for me. There are some undetailed bits which will require further attention; however, I feel these warriors of the First Legion meet the spirit of the competition.

As we enter Week 3 we come face-to-face Week 3 Blues! That means that there is a sharp drop in new recruits before it speeds up again in Week 4. Now if we can maintain the flow of new recruits and avoid the blues we'll be in a much better position once Week 4 hits! Keep this in mind!

Started good the DW dreadnought (body needs the last touches and shin guards, army are 70% complete)
