Life always finds a way to get in the way of painting. At least I had the time to finish a half on my 2nd vow.

Here it is, my convertion of Murderfang the Curseborn.

I'll try to paint the Wolf Lord tomorrow

Finally, the Wolf Lord. With this I can declare my 2nd vow completed.

I will check the bits bag to see if there is anything else I can work with. I think I will be able to make some skyclaws, a rune priest and long fangs for a 3rd vow.

Aha, Bulweih, see what I was getting; you are a beast with those vehicles Donkalleone!

So true Amarog, I don't know that I'll be able to pull off a second vow either. I'm just glad I get to participate with the likes of all of you smile.png

Hail brothers,

@rgr_maddog: Oh yes, now I can totally see where you were coming from and have to second that, mjod's on me brothercool.png .

@Donkalleone: Really nice edge highlighting on that Sicarian brother!

-I feel even more flattered you asked me for any advice than I was in the first placerolleyes.gif .

Can't declare the vow done just yet, but another two of the Terminators are:

TDA WG

TDA WG

TDA WG

That blue-ish area on the base of one of them is my first attempt at a medium area of shattered / cracked ice, thought the armor's weight would justify the effect. What do you think of it?

I'll post pics with snow once the ETL is nearing its end and I'm done with my (hopefully) vows.
Congratulations to all brothers who have finished their vows, on brothers!

As long as Capt. Semper says  these pics are good enough, my 1st vow is complete brothers. My poor photos below:

As long as these past muster, I'll make a second vow within a day or so, maybe sooner if I can the picture sizes right for uploading. LOL!!!

I think a little work on the faces/helmets could really help make these models pop. That's the first thing most people are going to be looking at. On your helmets, yellow is hard to work with and eyes are hard, and yellow eyes... well, there is a reason I like red! For the faces, try to get the whole eye white, then you can clean any overlap up with the a dark flesh base color and add highlights after that. Try it on some extra heads/helmets you have lying around. These are suggestions that I have found useful in my own painting. They are only offered as you seem doubtful of you work "passing muster," and not as a judgement.

While I'm at it I'll submit my third bow:

I bow to finish 5 wolf scouts with camo cloaks, 4 with sniper rifles, and a heavy bolter (94 points), and a wolf lord with frost axe, storm shield and jump pack (155 points), for a total of 249 points, before august 1st, for the glory of my mother. May my guts be eaten by a rabid rascal while I'm still alive and the rascal's feces be fed to me again should I fail.

I've a tourney this saturday and still plenty of bases and such to finish, and a couple of RL busy weeks afterwards, so no fourth bow for now. Hopefully later in july I can contribute some more!

Keep rocking!

Well brothers, I can now place a second vow as I have some more time on my hands then I thought I might. THerefore, I, Riftblade vow to complete before or by Aug 1st, one Wolf Lord on Thunder wolf w/Runic Armour, Storm Shield, Black Death, Helm of Durfast & Melta Bombs for 225 pts, one with twinlinked multi meltas for 235 pts, one Iron Priest on Thunder Wolf with digital weapons for 115 pts, one Razorback with lascannon & twinlinked plasma guns with pintle mounted storm bolter & hunter killer missile for 90 pts & 3 Wolf Guard in Terminator armour with twin Wolf Claws for 135 pts. for a total vow of 800pts.  or may I bear the mark of failure till the Wolf Time.

Awesome work so far brothers!
I shall post a wip pic tonight to show my progress. Wanted to have finished sooner, but real life can be hectic every now and then sadly.
Keep it up!

Well, some great progress Sons of Fenris! I think this was a truly productive week for you - you increased your completions by 44% week on week! Well done to all!

Keep up the good work - all of you! :tu:

UPDATED TO THIS POINT!

I hate Florida, hate it hate it hate it. I've got Thunderwolves that are on my desk and have been for 3 weeks waiting for a day dry enough to prime them. Get them primed this morning, go out this afternoon to prime the riders... every one of them looks like they took a bath with Grandpa Nurgle...AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

Hey All,

Small update- First Vow is complete!

The arms are magnetized so I will eventually, maybe get around to doing up some alternate weapons.

My second vow is upcoming, I need to decide between some HQs, Flyers, Wolf Guard, TDAWG, Drop Pods, Long Fangs, or TWC.........

Stay tuned!

Same here! HA! Virginia has been a mess.

@Gemini and @Sigmund,

I have had good success with using Liquitex Black Gesso painted on. I've not tried other brush-on primers but I think you might want to research them too. Google priming miniatures with gesso, there is a decent tutorial with pics.

I have used Vallejo brush-on Primers and i suggest to every one to have both them and spray ones.

Since using Spraying with a can on small objects waste to much paint i brought brush-on and im happy with it.

Tips:

1. It doesn't cling as good on the surface as a spray ones so make sure they are clean further make sure the surface is not too smooth.

This didnt happen with GW Modells but some of my third party bits weren't clean or much to smooth and had to strip/sand and reprime.

You shouldnt have problems with normal Models.

2. the paint will glog/dry very fast because of its nature. So use an old brush and clean it in water or you will have fun time cleaning a very stiff brush after taking a piss.

3. Delute the primer but very very carefully i suggest 1Water/5paint. It gives the surface a very smooth finish but dries a bit longer.

4. It doesnt care about tempreature like spray cans soit can always be used.

My Donatar pre Painting. Removing the Smaller Shield that Arm keeping both intact was a god damn surgical operation. Im not sure if i keep the Shield i think i will bluetac it first .After i buy a Stormwolf i will decide which shield i take.
