+++E Tenebrae Lux IV - Realm of Chaos Strategium+++

Recommended Posts

Is it possible that I can pull out of my vow? I've tried taking photos on my crappy camera phone (no proper camera as of yet) and its a blurry mess. Only 165pts, but I'm still sad I can't put up something... :'(

Get a white piece of paper, fold it in half, put your model in front of it.

Brace your hands against the edge of the table to steady them while you take the photos.

I take my pics on a 15 year old 4 mega-pixel camera, they're not great but they do the job :tu:

With Semper permission. I'm going to put forward the plastic Mechanicus Techpriest as a count as Warpsmith (pushing forward with Dark Mechanicus army). Due to time, stuff on going over the next few days & waiting to see if a friend got spare part from the FW mechanicus models, also seen what parts I have spare from the Helbrutem etc... I'll not be able to paint him until Saturday from 10.30am. But it not a event unless your painting last min right? I'll aim get a photo on Friday.

Vow 4

I, Insane Psychopath, rise to the challenge of E TENEBRAE LUX and vow to complete...

  • Warpsmith with Buring Brand & Veteran of the Long war - 145

A total value of 145 points on or before August 1st, 2015. Success will bring eternal glory to Chaos in general & to the Iron Warriors 5th Grand Company. Failure will doom me to bear the Badge of the Oathbreaker until the year-end.

Also really enjoy see all the vows pulling together. Been a lot of really cool models, armies & general progress biggrin.png

I nearly had a heart attack before seeing you are from Scotland. In my timezone that would leave you less than 2 hours to finish...

Also, just as a general question, why not wait to vow until right before you start painting the model?

Just add on to this Tale of Painter have a good guide

Hope these help out.

Just noticed that IP's 4th vow hasn't been logged, either start or finish. Unless this is vow 4 and IP typoed, of course.

Either way, you nutter! This has *so* many ways it could backfire.

Dragonlover

My mistake, this is vow 4 & has been edit. Also I find your lack of faith disturbing :D

Talking with Semper, UK about 6pm for the timezone, but might want to double check this 5pm GMT?

dammit, you nearly gave me a heart attack, making me think for a sec the deadline is tomorrow...

Again: here's the count down counter.

A crappy completion photo is better than none at all. We need all the points we can get.

Though I couldn't enter this year, this was my photo from two years ago, on a crapy camera phone. If it shows completion, it works!

I'm sleepy and thats how I saw your post in my head :D

Last 5 of my dogs literally took...minutes. :D

Ink drying right now, then the silver/bone and they will be complete.

Green on the eyes for my 7 CSM, and they are done, leaving me the Lord (brushed silver already) the possessed (need silvers) and....the :cussty :cussty bikes. :D

Got most of the red shading done on the lord of skulls and started on the blood tanks. Now that the red tinting is being built up I can see several areas where I didn't get the silver under layer shaded correctly. Think it is because I used fewer layers on the silver than I normally do. Grrr...trying to fix it as I go but might just have to re do parts. Or it could be a subconscious plot to avoid having to work on the trim. OCD need to fix it is strong.

Washes are taking longer to dry than normal too. Although that's okay as I realized I hadn't quite finished the demons. So working on them while I watch the paint dry. All in all means I'm going to need additional time to finish up - guess I'll be painting Friday night.

Keep up the GREAT works!!

Has me wishing I had something else lying about that I could put up for a quick 5th but all I have is loyalists and xenos projects waiting to be done (and a bunch of pirate/historicals, lol). I will double check tho and see!

For the glory of Chaos!!!!

I did it! I completed my last Vow this ETL! Overall, my skills have improved, I have learned a few things, seen some awesome Chaos minis, and I have added a few hundred points to my Warband. I also had quite a bit of fun doing it. Thanks Capt Semper!

On to the completion. I was able to finish off the Helbrut tonight, he may not be the best painted model in my collection, but he will remain with his brothers a while longer before I get around to stripping him. What sold me on him was the base, I've said it before, but I really like the white pumice. Then there is the addition of my first ever daemon as well.

Engine of Frustration, Vingal

FOR THE GLORY OF CHAOS AND DEATH TO THE FALSE EMPEROR AND HIS LACKEYS (well their paint brushes)! All of these completions and great work looks awesome guys. Feel proud to stand alongside you great to see all the encouragement.

We can do this, we will laugh at the finish line.

To those still painting, good luck on completing your vows and may the dark gods guide you.

Slow night for me. Trim done on 4 of the berserkers and the modelling of the Bloodletter champion. I got sick of trim so I started progressing the berserker champion. Got his metal and red highlighted and started on the skulls and skin. That way I can see what they look like finished and be motivated. No worries about finishing in time.

Right, here we go with the Crappy Phone (managed to get photobucket working too)

Obviously it looks a lot better in real life, but a photo is a photo.

Also, took a photo of my possessed, not part of the vow as they were done before, but I thought you all may like them (Shoddy photo!).
