ETL IV - THIRD WEEKLY UPDATE

Well, that's my Librarian and Heavy Flamers squad done! Really enjoying painting these chaps. I've made the Librarian so I can use him as Crysos Morturg if I fancy :)

 

Here's a few snaps of my chaps, and the next batch to do; another 20-man Tactical Squad and the 10-man Autocannon Squad. Once they're done, I'll treat myself to either the Deathshroud or the Vindicator.

So, Team Heresy, the Week 3 blues, eh? Well, compared to the stats of Week 2, a case could be made for it. But there's one stat that upsets the idea: Completions. Our completion rate outshone Week 2 by a wide margin and we've effectively doubled our completion rate overall just in the third week. A damn fine job so far I must say.

But what of the other stats? Well, participants joining has gone down by a third. Not too great a figure. However - the story is the same across most of the board so we arguably have not much to worry about seeing as everyone is in the same boat. The re-vows have gone down a touch. Not by a lot but the Forces of the Imperium faction has closed the gap somewhat.

We still lead the amount of points vowed but we have ceded the largest gain to the Blood Angels (a fact which matters little in the long run). We still have a healthy 30,000 point advantage over our nearest rivals, the Forces of the Imperium and Chaos, and we lead them in the percentage of completions by about 6%.

In other news, several of the sub-factions have had no movement at all. While this may seem unfortunate, the small number of participants for several of those sub-factions, it is not altogether surprising. Compared to the larger factions, with their large pool of members, updates and completions are a much rarer event. Nonetheless, good luck to them.

it seems, even though we have been basing our rivalry this year against the Chaos faction, it seems we must guard ourselves for competition against the Forces of the Imperium faction, who are edging out the Chaos faction for second place. We cannot afford to ignore either, really, so let's keep applying the pressure. Vow what's manageable. Complete what you can. Soon we will need to look to revowing to keep our high totals ahead of the pack.

Again, I implore our brother here on Team Heresy - if you can rope in anyone, please do so. We have exactly one week left for new people to join in - after that, we are on our own.

Thanks richmarine. It's just dawned on me that Team Heresy owns 20% of the new participants, vows and points in Week 3. That's not bad, in a seven horse race. :)

I love my cat, I really do, but he has stolen another Servitor; the fourth one so far. What is it with him and Servitor models? Well this leaves me with a problem. I have more Servitors, but not with a servo-arm. I do have more with heavy bolters, so I can swap out that lone servo-arm vowed one for a heavy bolter armed one instead? The replacement model is 10 points more, but I am already painting a 0 point Primarch so I don't even care about amending my point total for such a trivial amount.

I completely blame Zardu Layak for this. I'm working up a list to work around him and the 20 Ashen Circle. Well more like two lists due to Lorgar trumping Zardu for warlord when he's knocking around. Probably another 10 Ashen circle coming that way I can split em into 15 man assault squads and use that new command tank for its no scatter deep strike range.

You could paint the way I paint: Do not do it unless you can suddenly stand up and say to yourself "I feel like painting, right now" and never force yourself too. Also, if you can time it with a Show or Livestream/Podcast the way I do and start when the show does and finish when it does too it might help you feel more motivated to get stuff done.
