@CaptainSemper - you are far too kind! I am really enjoying these chaps. To the point where I'm tempted to repurpose the stuff I had put aside for a small World Eaters army into making my Death Guard army even bigger.

I was threatening to get Mortarion finished in 4 days; I managed it in about a day and a half! I'm sorta pleased with him, though there are a couple of bits I'm not happy with. One of these days, I'm going to get myself a half decent camera and not just rely on my iPhone.

However, it was a nice treat to paint him after 80-something Marines and Terminators. I'm probably going to tackle the Vindicator with Laser Destroyer Array now (I'm going to wait to paint the other 15 Terminators and build the other 40+ Marines I've still got).

@  Isinfer: I'm afraid vows cannot change in a material way once made. I can turn a blind eye to say an item of wargear, or the loadout of a Character... I could even allow something like an addition of a single marine to a squad, but writing off 235pts in a 600pts vow? Sorry I cannot do that... (That is, if I understood you correctly).

I'm relieved to say that my second vow is complete - featuring crushed Death Guard Rhino! This is my first ever contemptor, and it was a joy to build and paint. I've had it nearly done for the last week, but just couldn't find the hour to finish the flames off. I'm pleased with the finished beast though, and hope you all approve!

 

In all seriousness - stunning work in here guys. Grand Master your DG look awesome, and I love your battle damage techniques.

 

I won't be able to paint more this month I don't think, but I will make one more vow soon. I hope my small contributions will help the cause! Keep the momentum Fraters - we can win this but we must not tire!

Crappy kitchen lighting aside, I'm really pleased with these guys now.

Thanks, bro! The purple is really simple. In the picture that you quoted, all that I've done is give a base coat of Xereus Purple a was with Druchii Violet. Here is a pic of the finished armour. I've re-layered the Xereus Purple and done a highlight with Geensteeler Purple.

The helmets are just regular MkIV with some added green stuff detail. I felt that the helmets looked a bit too plain for the III Legion.

 

I'd love to see you have a go at some Emperor's Children and I'd be particularly love to see how you weather them. Weathering is something that I've never been confident with, so seeing the EC get you're weathering treatment would be great :tu:

tdemayo, great mix of parts you have there, including metal termie shield, grey knight as Libby, chaos backpacks and those awesome banner dudes. Don't usually like seeing the plastic 40k bits in 30k, but the mix really breaks them down to a late heresy looking force. Excellent stuff.

Powering through these Death Guard atm! Still a bit slower than I'd like to be progressing, but apparently, a man has to eat, work and socialise now and then.

 

Here's my first attempt at painting and weathering a tank properly. I love Vindicators and Laser Destroyer Arrays, so this was a no brainier! It's a little OTT, I think, but I'm happy enough I suppose. I'm gonna scale it back for the next tank, a Predator Executioner. First time using some of the different paints from the AK Interactive range, and I'm so impressed. My Death Guard wouldn't be possible without them.
