Quick question. Has the Deredeo had any point changes in Tempest? The FW PDF has the price for a Deredeo with Plasma Cannonade and missile launcher at 255pts. Is this still correct?

Unless I miscalculated, it's still 255pts in Tempest.

Some absolutely brilliant stuff going on here and some truly outstanding models n painting.

 

Not too much of an update really. Work has been gruelling so painting has taken a back seat.

 

But I do need some help.

This is about where he is: need to do the house design on the right leg, but should I leave the knees and sword-arm plate blank. I am getting concerned that I will soon "swamp" the model with patterns and designs, but equally I do not want it to look half-finished, so some ideas please?

Managed to get the crowns on the swords, each is slightly different. I decided not to put a crown on the carapace sword as I felt it was already pretty busy up on there and something else would overwhelm the design.

The groin plate is the Wallbanks family crest. When I started I wanted the family symbol to represent the house, and used my Grandfathers symbol which was passed to me when he died (yes I am a Laird) however I later found out it wasnt his "personal" heraldry, but that of Lochaber, where he had a Lairdship. So, to properly remember him I added the family  crest to the model. So now we have House, Knight and now pilots own heraldry. I now have the idea to use differrent family branches for the pilots. Taylor, Cameron, Stewart, Condie, Oliphant etc....

 

And the second part of the vow... All patched up and ready for priming..

Sir Dantay you're Knight is pure high octane awsomesuace it is busy for sure but historicaly knightly heraldry was similarly busy at the height of chivalry a especially at tourney. If it where me I would leave to knee plate alone but the right greaves and and vembrace plates could get away with more designs and it would balance out the rest of the model. You have already comitted to a colourful heraldic knight so no sense going half mast on it. Besides if anyone chirps him for being the galaxies biggest harlequin it looks like he has 2 answers for that ...

Hi Kriegriss. Thanks for the compliments :) Your Imperial Fists are looking lush as-well, especially liking the Praetor with iron halo & paragon blade and the medics. Oh and good luck with the airbrush

 

Awesomesauce is what I was shooting for! The right greave will get the House symbol (the wolf and towers from his shoulder plates.

 

Trying to come up with a design for the vambrace, any ideas?

I prefer the quality myself.......  Not that I think my painting is high quality compared to quite a few of the folks loitring around these forums, but I am a bit proud of my Knight

 

@ Kriegriss: Sorry if I mis-spelt your username, no glasses on and its 3am... Unfortunately no, the Knights are part of my general thread  and I haven't really come up with any fluff for them as yet. Just a general broad idea for the House itself and the miniature painting in particular.

 

For modelling ideas I keep a gallery of images for reference here... Some I use, some I mangle into something unidentifiable. I do te same wit my Wolves too :p

Well, "done" isn't absolutely true : there are a few details missing (lights and targeting arrays). And it look way too clean so it'll need some weathering but it'll be for later since I'm just trying to learn how to do this.

 

And my three last Termies are almost finished. Just a problem with the chainfist arms that are left handed like the shields I want to give them. So I'll have to use some GS I guess, hopefully not too much!
