Evening all. Thought I'd come say hi and share the first few units of my Imperial Fists 5th with you. I'm relatively new to the hobby only been painting around 9 months so take it easy on me ;) That being said I am always looking for constructive criticism and looking for ways to improve my painting and modelling techniques in general. Have enclosed a few pictures of my finished units and wips will update the thread as I get more units in progress or completed. Look forward to sharing my work with you.

Weathered fists, very nice!  Can't wait to see a group shot.

Your basic technique looks great, you've got the yellow nice and crisp, parted off from the black n metal, and a lovely weathered grime look all over.  Lots would be happy with what you've done right there.

Three techniques that you could look into as and when you're ready would be: Chipping (there are lots of methods, easiest is to paint a little black where you want the chips, then a little silver in the middle of it).  Rust streaking from all those rivets (look at any 30k Death Guard army for this, AK Streaking Grime effects can achieve this with a few youtube tutorials).  Lastly, mud around the tracks (lots of ways, mud coloured pigments work well, there are lots of youtube vids, look to the WW2 Tank vids for overkill in techniques).

Cheers all. As I say I have a lot to learn and yellow is definitely a challenge. Was uncertain on the weathering to start with as I got very much mixed reviews. Am quite happy with how it has turned out so far however.

Hey guys. Sorry sort of forgot about this post. My yellow recipe is grey primer, Averland sunset basecoat and yriel yellow from above. Then a burnt umber oil wash. Hope this helps. Thanks for the kind words by the way. Will be uploading more pictures shortly to share my progress. Watch this space.
