WarriorFish
The answer is: get two, plus another four jars. You will need the jars to store the extra tears from your opponents. Truesight
I have two and I love them. It's hard to justify not taking two in every list, at any points limit. They always make their points back, often on turn 2. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/310047-wyverns/#findComment-4102396 Share on other sites

march10k
That's like asking whether you should accept or decline your host's offer of cake... steellegionnaire85
I have three they usual kill atleast two to three times there points a game my friends cry and complain about the rules and how unfair they are. They are great to have every game no question they do draw alot of fire however the rest of your army lives a little longer. cracklingvoice
Two is the max I would ever bring, and it leaves some space in HS for other things (tanks ... so many tanks). Plus, two of them work well together and shredding mobs or pounding away at MEQs. cracklingvoice
Ulrik does bring up a point: are you willing to go full potato and put down nine of them? If I was fighting an Ork/Nid/IG horde army of boyz/gaunts/infantry, I would honestly consider it. Not for very long, but it'd give me pause. RhysW
I really love Wyverns, I want to make my own closed top ones through using a technique similar to the OOP FW Hydras, I'll definitely look into it as my Army expands, but will probably wait till the next book as I can see some drastic changes on the horizon for them, such as a points increase or nerfing. Right now though, Hydras are brutal against pretty much everything, from Jinking Bikes to regular foot troops, there rarely is a target that a Wyvern will be wasted on in a game, unless you choose to target a vehicle or MC of course! Ulrik_Ironfist
I've got an armored force in mind that wyverns would fit quite well in. It's really just the Armored battle group with wyverns in the heavy support and Russes in the troops with vanquishers in elites and HQ. /edit/ Wyverns can't be fielded in the ABG list from forgeworld. Looks like I'm going to have to do another supplement... Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/310047-wyverns/#findComment-4108783 Share on other sites
