What if they did a HH TV show

Like the title said. What if ala Game of Thorne style TV show was done on the Horus heresy. I reckon it would be awesome season1 finding the primach then build from there.

What actor do you think could play the key role and primachs.

Who could pull of Horus or the Emperor.

My match for Actor to Primarch would be Fulgrim played by ......Zac Efron. No I am not kidding I think he has a very arrogant look which would suit he has a wide range as and actor can play serious and funny and Ithink he could portray him well.

What are your choices?

While I like the Idear of any 40K media...

I think, oddly... that something 'smaller' may be much better. Give me a TV show about Karl Jerico,  Eisenhorn or dare I even say it Lysander and I would be a very happy man.

One Point of View, Grity story, much easyer to direct/write and produce.

It'd have to try very hard not to focus entirely on the Legions & Primarchs to avoid only having a handful of female characters.

Sadly, representing diversity in the setting is one area in which much 30k reference material is sorely lacking (with the obvious exception of ADB's novels), and having the most central factions of the conflict being comprised entirely of men is a hurdle which is pretty unavoidable.

From the last time we had this thread...

Lion - Mark Pellegrino

Fulgrim - Mark Gatiss if he was ten years younger. IMHO Harry Lloyd (Viserys Targaryen from GoT) would be better as Lucius.

Pert - Karl Urban. Right kind of brooding and a decent actor to boot

Khan - Tadanobu Asano (played Genghis Khan in Mongol, and did a great job!)

Russ - Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (Jamie Lannister from GoT). Give him hair and a beard and let him be the clever savage

Dorn - Iain Glen

Curze - Cillian Murphy would do the mania of Curze really well, I think.

Sanguinius - Tom Hiddleston (interchangeable with Cillian Murphy, really)

Ferrus - Michael Shannon

Angron - Ray Stevenson

Roboute - Paddy Considine

Mortarion - Sean Pertwee

Magnus - Tempted to say Arnold Vosloo purely for the Mummy connection... Or Eddie Marsan

Horus - Mark Strong. All day, every day. Could make the transition from glorious hero to absolute villain really real. Looks good bald too!

Lorgar - James Callis (Gaius Baltar from the BSG remake). The right kind of self-righteousness.

Vulkan - Controversial, but... Vin Diesel. He's got the geek chops and I reckon he'd do Vulkan well.

Corax - Jai Courtney if he was ten years older.

Alpharius - Andrew Scott (Moriarty from BBC's Sherlock)

Sir Ben Kingsley as Kor Phaeron. Creepy, strong-willed dynamism. Also, Udo Kier as Erebus.

Can we not have something where Sean bean gets to live? And no idris Elba as Vulkan. He really needs to stop heroicly self sacrificing himself or taking roles that make him do that anyway

I love Idris Elba though so can we have him as someone else?

First legion master dreadnought guy?

If a Warhammer 30k tv-series or movie was ever made they would probably need to hire unknown actors. the cgi-production would eat most of the budget, or they could only use the setting as we know it as a background. Space marines are rather boring to the main stream audience and the hardcore fans are really to few to even consider a production in a GoT scale.

What could be interesting both for a new audience and us hardcore fans is the story behind the growth of the Imperial cult with Keeler and co. as the main characters and still have enough Astartes around to cater us fans.

Or several plots around people like Ollanius Persson, John Grammaticus and others like them, just so they can insert other Perpetuals and their henchmen etc, to be fair we do not know how many Perpetuals there are and just to spice everything up, make them four to five and we have enough story to go around for several seasons.

Anyhow I feel that Ed Harris can pull of several Primarchs, Dorn, Guilliman, Lorgar or any veteran Space marine with short hair as he more or less looks like the mold that all space marines are comes from, at least when he was younger. We all know that sooner or later someone will say Kristofer Hivju as Russ. I think Mark Strong would be an awesome Mortarion, and a couple of years ago I saw a series with an actor who I thought, "he would be great as a generic Ultramarine", Dylan Bruno.

That's my thoughts.

People realise this is just a 'what if..?' Right?

I do, yes. I just never want the HH to be made into a tv show....If anything make a short film and show it off at the HH weekender. Reward the fans.

Why? That doesn't reward the fans, that rewards a small portion of the fans who manage to get tickets.

To be completly 100% honest....and please everyone keep in mind this is just my opinion, but i dont want people who dont read or play the HH or 40k, to be gifted with a series. I just think it would attract alot of bad people. But again, just my opinion, and  i know, not a popular one.
