GW/FW Dark Angel Character models, current and historic

Recommended Posts

I brought up my reason for buying Asmodai, on the thread pertaining to his relevance, too complete my available DA character collectiont .  I hate the fact I have to have full sets of items I collect or it drives me nuts when I think about it.

Anyway, I was wondering if the older DA forum members could provide posts with pictures or character names and time periods they were available of DA Characters other than those currently available from GW.  I have heard of Asmodai's previous metal sculpt looking like Sapphon, but were there others that I can search for on eBay or other sites that sell GW models.

If there is an archive that holds this please feel free to provide the link and I'll do my own research, I really don't mind.

There is the scout Sergeant Naaman back from 3rd edition codex (I can't remember if he was in 4th or not). The same time period as the old Asmodai model. Lexicanum and 1d4chan have some information on him, I got the 3rd edition codex if you want more info.

No other special characters that I can think of. But there some unique dark angel HQ models around from the past like the company commander from the old dark Angels army box set (Combi plasma). You'll be hard pressed finding that now though, and if you did, he won't be cheap.

A few pics I quickly found on google. I do actually own copies of these models, but mine are either unpainted or not painted very well.

Original Dark Angels captain model (dates back to at least Second Edition 40k, if not late era Rogue Trader)

Original Asmodai. Dates back to Second Edition and the original Angels of Death Codex (which was the first 40k rulebook I ever bought!). This version of Asmodai is still one of my all time favourite GW models.

Scout Sergeant Namaan. Released around 3rd Edition.

Dark Angels Tactical Squad from 2nd Edition (maybe a bit earlier). I keep meaning to paint up the sergeant from this set as one of my Sword Bearers.

If I think of any more I'll edit them in. Hope this helps!

Brother Beth or should be added to the list.

Brother belthor he is the chapters master of standards the only member of the reclusiam who is a part of the deathwing and inner circle who isn't a chaplain. He is responsible for bearing the sacred standards to war as well as the chapter banner. He also is the chapters only member who can sow. He repairs the battle standards.

Forgeworld had a dark angel terminator character in one of their vraks books. They never made a model for him though. He didn't really have any special rules... just an interrogator chaplain in tda with a combi plasma gun.

He's missing a cloak!  My ancient one of those has a cloak dropping down from the bottom of the backpack just like the old bareheaded/bionic legged Verteran Captain :)

I just want to de-rail the thread for a second and thank chaplain Lucifer for linking the lexicanium instead of linking the warhammer wikia. While a veteran surfer of both I find the wikia to be fit to bursting with inconsistencies and errors while the lexicanium seems much more policed and accurate.

Back on topic there was an old metal sergeant model with a chaonsword and plasma pistol I have in my bits box but I don't remember where it came from

He came in a blister but first came out with a Tactical squad that also had a DA specific metal plastic hybrid plasma cannon..

Edit, please excuse the paint... I am much better now and they are in line for the stripper.
