One day my dream of a mass effect style inquisitor game will come true

You and me both, brother.

I assume Mass Effect is worth playing then? Might pick a copy up next week.

Is there a release date for this Inquisitor game yet? Or have I missed it by not paying attention.

Check out the eisenhorn game. That seems a lot more like mass effect

Nay, unfortunately. The Eisenhorn game is more akin to the 'Batman: Arkham...' games, in a mix between detective work and brawling/melee (not that this is bad, I'm looking forward to that one, as well) only with less "open-worldness", as far as I can tell.

A "Mass Effect Style" game - to me - would be built on four pillars:

1.) Gather henchmen for your retinue and foster relationships with them (good or bad)

2.) Choose freely to follow the main route of questline(s) or take your time and complete sidequests (developing more of the 40k lore, for example)

3.) Focus on multiple sets of dialogue choices to advance your cause, with a passable fighting/shooting/psychic system at the side

4.) Character developement in multiple dimensions: Not just XP, but also how close you want to adhere to the standards of the Imperium, how you treat Xenos/Heretics/Outcasts, how you treat your henchmen, etc.

Yes, it's very much worth playing. When you come around to playing it, you will immediately see the many similarities to how a 40k Inquisitor operates and eventually will succumb to the need of that game in a 40k setting ;)

Sorry for the off topic, but this is realy a heart's desire of mine to see such a game...

We asked what that bang would sound like, and there was a very intense community vote. We counted more than 5000 votes, here are the results:

Hi guys!

Let us introduce our Helbrute 3D Model. Go ahead and grab, rotate and flip the model, zoom in or out:https://sketchfab.com/models/736b5474af584485a3a4ff73b0bb5af5

Sketchfab is a site where developers can share their animated 3D models, so we decided to do so as well. We’re hard at work polishing Warhammer 40,000: Inquisitor – Martyr, but until the next iteration, there will be some interesting posts like this.

What do you think?

Totally agree.

I think this would do more to bring in new players to the TTG than almost any other GW computer game released to date (yes, more than DoW).

The thing is, whilst I enjoy games like DoW which reflect elements of the TTG but are on a computer (and which you can play solo - a big bonus), they are really just re-treads of TTGs I already play! What I'd want is a game that lets me do the things I can't do in the TTGs - explore, influence, fight, and even recruit for a really solid story arc. I loved the Inquisitor trilogies (Eisenhorn and Ravenor), but they would have been even better if I could play through them myself and make different choices than the Inquisitors in the stories did. A Mass Effect-style game with this setting could (and should) be breath-taking (and make GW a huge profit).

Finally, RPG games are quite popular across broader audience demographics than GW's normal TTG target audience. I personally think that it would be nice to share the awesome 40K universe with a wider audience. :)

New video:

We present you a featurette called Blood and Gore, which shows some of the physical capabilities of our updated engine (similarly to our destruction-themed video), and as its title says, it will be about carnage. Plain and simple. Not for the faint-hearted!

As Inquisitors, you’ll be able to choose from a variety of methods how you want to dispose of your enemies, but however you approach the situations, it should be spectacular and worthy of the Emperor.

Right... like all RTS are Starcraft clones and all MMORPGs WoW clones.. If you don't like a genre of games, fine, but that's not a very interesting contribution (or constructive, I thought that criticism was supposed to be constructive on B&C...).

I, for one, am curious to see how they will manage to differentiate the kinds of inquisitors/way of approaching "problems". What makes (or breaks) an ARPG is its class system and skills. Can't have every character be a clone of each other ;)

Bah so many Inquisitor games. Where is my updated Inquisition codex with new Plastic Inquisitors? Ill have a look at it tho.

Rumoured to be coming with the new BT Codex :happy.:
You so funny >:/
I heard it was just after the sisters Dex, but before squats.

If the game comes out on console, even if I didn't want to get it, my wife would talk me into it

Yes, it's an Action-RPG. But, there is the cover system, and the updated physics which produces a great variety of how different attacks affect the environment.  Also you can choose from a variety of methods how you want to dispose of your enemies. So it's an ARPG like Diablo, but there are plenty of new features.

And there is more coming out...  The game is still in pre-alpha state - coming to Xbox One, PS4, PC in 2017.

Sounds different enough to Diablo already - nice work! :D
