Tranc
Hi! I decided recently to take a break from my space marines and Super Dungeon Explore figures to paint a Cadian style Leman Russ Battle Tank. This is the first of three that I hope to paint (eventually). I may turn them into an allied detachment for my Ultramarines some day, using Forge World's Imperial Guard Armoured Battle Group army list from Imperial Armour I. Hope you like! While this is my first Leman Russ, and Imperial Guard model for that matter, I have had some practice airbrushing camouflage schemes on Dust Tactics models. For those interested, I airbrushed the lower half of the hull using Vallejo Model Air Camouflage Green (71022) and the upper half using Cam. Light Green (71006). Then I taped over where I wanted the tank to remain green, and re-airbrushed with Vallejo Model Air Hemp (71023) and Light Brown (71027). After the tape was removed, I airbrushed the lowest portions with Vallejo Model Air Dark Earth (71029) to simulate mud. I also used watered down Dark Earth around the rivets and along grooves for dirt. The tank was line highlighted with old school GW Goblin Green and Bleached Bone. I also used these colors to highlight the tops of rivets. Paint chips were dabbed on with a sponge and GW Rhinox Hide, and some of the chips were underlined with the aforementioned highlight colors. After airbrushing, I ran out of Vallejo Model Air Cam. Green, but old GW Catachan Green was a close enough match for clean-up work. Same Leman Russ, but with a Vanquisher Cannon: I wanted to add Smoke Launchers, but felt that they were really big and detracted from the model. Stickeh
I love the old school bright colour scheme (bonus points for using goblin green!) and the job itself is really clean, great stuff.
Zeller
Seriously, that is so cleanly painted I'd think you took it straight out of a White Dwarf. Nice!
