Anyone willing to donate some soldiers to a blackshields war band? I'd prefer if I could develop them, but if anyone has any poor, orphaned outcasts I'd be willing to look after them and giving 'em a loving home with food, shelter and the blood/slaughter of the enemy.
How about a warden if light who survived the onslaught of traviers treason on the day of revelation but didn't make it back to caerbannog for some reasons you have yet to find and who is not the pacifist he should be. (as reaction to the treason, an old terran maybe or a disillusioned caerbannogi) Edited by MikhalLeNoir

Edit: Also, I guess now would be a good time to post the unfinished concept sketch I had of Koschei that I forgot about. Check the Godslayers thread...

Oh my it's a good day for the godslayers!

I know this project has been going for a while, but is there still space to join? All good (and completely understandable) if it isn't, but the Icarion Insurrection looks, tbh, goddamn awesome and I'd love to contribute. Additionally, I can do pretty decent artwork if you needed it.

Welcome aboard, foamy! The project is always in need of artists. I look forward to seeing your work and am encouraged by the preview of Mortera you've already done.

For your custom space marine force, is there a particular kind of marine you're looking for?

Also, a quite important point r/e Book 1 (just been flicking through). Is everyone aware that all modifiers to Strength etc from Wargear AND Special Rules go in order of multipliers, THEN additions? For example, the Ironbound slayer clan's Warclaws would be S9 rather than S10. Also to note, Forgeworld says in the wargear and special rules sections for units whether or not modifications to a statline have been included in their profile, something I notice was lacking in Book 1 and I think it's something we should endevour to keep in our Insurrection works for the sake of clarity and consistency. For example, going back to the Ironbound again, one could easily argue that their actual statline would be S6 T6 W3 I3 A3, which would put them on the level with Vorax automata (more so thanks to better saves) and would make the unit SEVERELY undercosted

Thanks for the heads up. I'll try to go through the units and add appropriate notations. If anyone spots anything else please do point it out as it all goes towards making the finished product that much better.

Not a problem. Also one thing to note, the Initiative of the Ironbound unit appears to have been left unchanged, when it appears it should have been lowered by their Ironbound Hide? Is this an oversight or was it intentional? If it was intentional I personally think that should be altered given that their sergeant would, theoretically, have 6 Initiative without the Hide

Yeah that would be great. I'll develop that idea a bit more later today.

I've got an idea (it may be too left-field), where a aspirant had successfully completed the tests and trials to become a fully-fledged space marine. However, the transformation process fails and the soldier is left stunted and slightly mutated. Unable to serve as a combat marine, the soldier works in the legion's armory and helps the legion's techmarines. In some way or another (depending on the legion he will end up coming from) he is forced to flee, and ends up joining a crew of black shields. At that point, I've got SO many ideas for him.

Sounds like a really easy idea to implement. The gene-seed implantation process can be a notoriously fickle process. Any legion could suit that purpose, though the Scions are noted for having the most stable process. If you were using a Halcyon Warden, he could become separated from the legion during the Day of Revelation and join a Blackshield force just to survive.

That's a pretty decent idea. I was thinking along the lines of (and this is were it gets a bit... interesting) him designing and manufacturing a large battle-automata (maybe similar to a robot from the Iron Circle?), and essentially using it as compensation for his stunted growth and fighting ability. He could possibly go full rocket raccoon/groot, thanquol/boneripper with it, but the rules and model for it could be interesting. Sound feasible? :happy.:

Every legion suffers some kind of break away during the Insurrection. The only difference is the degree. The Harbingers suffer it the least, while I think the Dune Serpents are split almost down the middle.

So, any legion will work.

Foamy if you want a few Iron Bears for your blackshields feel free to have a handful.

@Talonair; the Initiative stat of the Ironbound Chief Centurion isn't a mistake, it was a choice of fluff in rules, the Ironbound wargear option is representing a Bear whom has had extensive augmentation and cybernetics, but the true Ironbound; the Ironbound Slayers are barely Astartes anymore, they are more akin to a brother in a Dreadnought than not. many often lack bones, skin, major organs, etcetera. So where as the upgrade slows the normal bearer because of organic integration, the Ironbound Slayers don't have that issue.

I hope that clears that up.

Got it

Just smashed up my tablet :sad.: have a nasty feeling I might've lost most of my current documents. Gonna be a couple days before I can replace it

Good gravy, man! You don't seem to have any luck these days.

Hopefully it's just a temporary setback (got electronics covered on my travel insurance) but I expect to be quiet until the 5th at least
