SC6669's Necromunda Gangs & Models

A good while back a friend of mine gave me an entire goliath gang that he never got around to painting...this was my start with Necromunda. Not knowing a whole lot about the game at that time, I just painted the models how they looked on the box. Later on, I updated their bases with some micro art miniatures brick bases, and thus The Warriors were born:

While this served as a start, I knew i would need a second gang for them to battle. As it just so happened, my very first issue of White Dwarf arrived in the mail a few days after I finished painting The Warriors, and it just happened to contain rules for a pit slaves gang. I liked the look of these models, made some of my own conversions, and completed my second gang, The Death Dealers:

After I finally got a rulebook and started getting familiar with how things worked, I realized that my pit slaves gang were going to get the short end of the stick against my goliath gang, so I decided to start an escher gang (which i am still working on). Here's what I have for it so far:

Here's the color scheme I have in mind:

I've also been working on some necromunda special characters. Here's my Mad Donna:

A ratling sniper (whom I had in mind for my pit slaves):

And my Bull Gorg:

So, you have 'Mad' Donna Ulanti and a plasma cannon Escher heavy? Either you got lucky or those weren't cheap. Or you've been holding onto them for a while. Just how long have you been working on your Eschers?

(I won't judge - I've been 'working' on a warhound titan for 12+ years. :P )

@ Olis: I've had my goliath and pit slave gangs for many years (since around 2003 if I remember right) but my escher gang is a recent development, as are my special characters (and yes the plasma gun escher and mad donna were pretty expensive, but not as bad as some I've seen for sale...my mad donna was $40; I've seen some for twice that).

I now have more models for necromunda. I purchased a 6th Escher ganger…

…who got a few extra bits:

As well as Kal Jericho and Scabbs:

And a scum model as well (this was painted well enough when I got it; I didn’t see the need to repaint it, though I did add a new base):

I also decided to get a bounty hunter model, due to Mad Donna’s special rules (the gang going against Mad Donna gets a free bounty hunter). It took a lot of searching and waiting, but I finally found the particular model I was looking for:

http://i842.photobucket.com/albums/zz345/Soulcrusher6669/Necromunda/47593778-23fb-457a-9315-ba2de9f9d669_zpswrfhjj8b.jpg

Two problems I had tho; it was in dire need of being repainted…

http://i842.photobucket.com/albums/zz345/Soulcrusher6669/Necromunda/bb891c73-c209-4495-9fc3-aabf6e7646e2_zpsae88e5qo.jpg

…and the shotgun barrel was crimped (by crimped I mean every time I bump it I’m convinced it’s going to break off). Here’s the model after I removed all the old paint:

http://i842.photobucket.com/albums/zz345/Soulcrusher6669/Necromunda/0b9731c8-9fda-4ca7-b093-06aacb09a44d_zpsxzxyvgcx.jpg

And here’s the model fully repainted, with its new base:

http://i842.photobucket.com/albums/zz345/Soulcrusher6669/Necromunda/9c365852-18aa-4e06-9f7b-93980c3bd5b8_zpsngqfbtlg.jpg

These are very cool! Loving the classic models getting mixed in with newer ones!

If you are in need of more necromunda focus then maybe have a look in yakromunda forum.

Either way, are we going to see some battle reports soon, have you got an oppenant ready to take one of the gangs and try to lead them to fame, fortune and awesomness over your own?

I finally lucked out and got the model I wanted to use for my escher leader. I traded in the trophy rack for a flamer:

http://i842.photobucket.com/albums/zz345/Soulcrusher6669/Necromunda/Necro%20Escher%200011.jpg

As of this post I've started painting the escher gangers I have so far...more on that to come.

My 4th escher ganger is finished:

http://i842.photobucket.com/albums/zz345/Soulcrusher6669/Necromunda/Necro%20Escher%200019.jpg

Also worth noting, I now have issues 1-6 of Gang War and am strongly considering making some of the special characters from those (such as Buffi and Lara :biggrin.: ).

Boy do I have a lot for this post. I finished painting one of my new Escher models:

http://i842.photobucket.com/albums/zz345/Soulcrusher6669/Necromunda/Necro%20Escher%200031.jpg

http://i842.photobucket.com/albums/zz345/Soulcrusher6669/Necromunda/Necro%20Escher%200032.jpg

Got two more Escher models:

http://i842.photobucket.com/albums/zz345/Soulcrusher6669/Necromunda/Necro%20Escher%200033.jpg

http://i842.photobucket.com/albums/zz345/Soulcrusher6669/Necromunda/Necro%20Escher%200034.jpg

Two more scum models (I now have one of each of the ones I wanted):

http://i842.photobucket.com/albums/zz345/Soulcrusher6669/Necromunda/Necro%20Scum%202%200001.jpg

http://i842.photobucket.com/albums/zz345/Soulcrusher6669/Necromunda/Necro%20Scum%203%200001.jpg

And a model I thought would make a cool ogryn bodyguard:

http://i842.photobucket.com/albums/zz345/Soulcrusher6669/Necromunda/Necro%20Ogryn%200001.jpg

http://i842.photobucket.com/albums/zz345/Soulcrusher6669/Necromunda/Necro%20Ogryn%200002.jpg

I built a crossbow for Buffi (as well as a graveyard themed base), which I’ll glue on once the weather warms up enough for me to remove the paint from the juve model:

http://i842.photobucket.com/albums/zz345/Soulcrusher6669/Necromunda/Necro%20Buffi%200002.jpg

I’ve also started getting some bits to build Lhora Craft from Gang War #4:

http://i842.photobucket.com/albums/zz345/Soulcrusher6669/Necromunda/Necro%20Lhora%200001.jpg

http://i842.photobucket.com/albums/zz345/Soulcrusher6669/Necromunda/Necro%20Lhora%200002.jpg

The hardest part for me to find was the bounty hunter backpack – I only found one model of that particular bounty hunter on ebay…and it didn’t have the backpack. Kind of defeats the purpose doesn’t it?

I decided the best thing to do was make my own. Remember those moldy oldie imperial guard stormtroopers (the ones with the berets)? I just happened to have a backpack from one in my bits box. I cut off the knife on the side of the backpack and glued on a chainsword to better look like the bounty hunter backpack. Unfortunately I didn’t have a sheathed chainsword so I made due with what I had. I couldn’t figure out a way to add the purity seal to the chainsword without it looking goofy (the orig model had the purity seal attached to the scabbard) so I put the purity seal on the spotlight of the backpack instead. After I added a few more bits I had this:

http://i842.photobucket.com/albums/zz345/Soulcrusher6669/Necromunda/Necro%20Lhora%200003.jpg

http://i842.photobucket.com/albums/zz345/Soulcrusher6669/Necromunda/Necro%20Lhora%200004.jpg

The hardest part of this build was the shotgun…the only shotgun I had was attached to a butchered goliath mini. Cutting it off cleanly was quite a challenge (his arm was wrapped around it):

http://i842.photobucket.com/albums/zz345/Soulcrusher6669/Necromunda/Necro%20Lhora%200005.jpg

More on these models forthcoming.

I received my two newest Escher gangers:

http://i842.photobucket.com/albums/zz345/Soulcrusher6669/Necromunda/Necro%20Escher%200035.jpg

For my pipe wrench wielder I added a holstered pistol and an autogun:

http://i842.photobucket.com/albums/zz345/Soulcrusher6669/Necromunda/Necro%20Escher%200036.jpg

http://i842.photobucket.com/albums/zz345/Soulcrusher6669/Necromunda/Necro%20Escher%200037.jpg

And here’s my ogryn:

http://i842.photobucket.com/albums/zz345/Soulcrusher6669/Necromunda/Necro%20Ogryn%200003.jpg

I know what you’re thinking…what happened to his gun? Since the barrel was a separate piece, I decided to get a plastic ripper gun and splice that onto the stock of the existing weapon (the one with the skull will mach up with the skull on the stock nicely):

http://i842.photobucket.com/albums/zz345/Soulcrusher6669/Necromunda/Necro%20Ogryn%200004.jpg

Also worth noting, I successfully won bids on the two remaining models I need to complete Lhora and Buffi. Three everqueen maiden guard (one of which will be donating her hair to Buffi):

http://i842.photobucket.com/albums/zz345/Soulcrusher6669/Necromunda/Necro%20Buffi%200003.jpg

And a blood bowl elf cheerleader for Lhora’s legs (this one was super hard for me to find):

http://i842.photobucket.com/albums/zz345/Soulcrusher6669/Necromunda/Necro%20Lhora%200006.jpg

More on these models once my parts arrive.

  • 2 weeks later...
  • 2 weeks later...

The maiden guard I need for my Buffi conversion has arrived:

http://i842.photobucket.com/albums/zz345/Soulcrusher6669/Necromunda/Necro%20Buffi%200004.jpg

As well as the cheerleader for my Lhora Craft conversion:

http://i842.photobucket.com/albums/zz345/Soulcrusher6669/Necromunda/Necro%20Lhora%200008.jpg

But unfortunately it’s still too cold outside atm to spay on any paint remover to start on my conversions…

  • 2 weeks later...

The weather finally warmed up enough to remove the paint from my models:

http://i842.photobucket.com/albums/zz345/Soulcrusher6669/Necromunda/Necro%20Escher%200038.jpg

http://i842.photobucket.com/albums/zz345/Soulcrusher6669/Necromunda/Necro%20Lhora%200009.jpg

Which allowed me to get B’Uffi assembled (The extra hair I used was a bit shorter than the one used for the original model, so I lengthened it with a bit of green stuff):

http://i842.photobucket.com/albums/zz345/Soulcrusher6669/Necromunda/Necro%20Buffi%200006.jpg

Here’s all the bits for Lhora, ready to be assembled:

http://i842.photobucket.com/albums/zz345/Soulcrusher6669/Necromunda/Necro%20Lhora%200010.jpg

Though quite a challenge, I got her built as well:

http://i842.photobucket.com/albums/zz345/Soulcrusher6669/Necromunda/Necro%20Lhora%200012.jpg

Here’s my completed B’Uffi the Vampyre Slayer (guess that means I’ll have to make a vampyre gang now):

And my completed Lhora Craft:

While I was at it I painted up a base for one of my underhive scum models:

Well folks I wound up being gone a bit longer than I planned, but now that I finally got a new camera I was able to take some pics of my finished ogryn bodyguard, Donk:
