I agree ^^ I like the black panelling on the legs, i think it looks really good, i also really like the backwards held knife/mini-gladius on the champion, posing on all three are excellent and the painting looks great aswell. Keep pumping them out, youre doing the corpse Emperor proud! tongue.png

That's a really good way to get around the Codex scheme thumbsup.gif

Thanks! Not much credit to take for the Chaplain or Apothecary which are posed pretty much exactly as provided! I'll admit, I was quite please with ol' Pellas when I made him.

I've been having a muse on the topic of the Legion of the Damned recently and how I'd maaaaybe like to include a squad, but I'm not entirely keen on buying a load of Finecast for the purpose. So I brainstormed a little idea; something like a "Void Strike Team" which would be modeled in an attempt to visualise the LotD's rules: Devastator plated leg armour (Slow and Purposeful), Sternguard Boltguns (Flaming Projectiles), Grey Knight Interceptor Backpacks (Deep Strike) and Boarding Shields (Invulnerable Save).

Potential colour scheme (photoshop skills non-existent hence ridiculous colouring and pixellation on the shield vs the Marine):

What do you think? Would this be an acceptable LotD stand-in?

I suppose this is actually a very tame haul from WHW given the possibilities, but lots of stuff to pay for this month so limited hobby funding. Which is a shame, the Leviathan Dreadnoughts where calling to me! Maybe next time...

A slightly better shot of Asterion Moloc;

And the current state of his accompanying "Tartaphractii" Assault Terminators;

And now a few new builds, because characters are fun! Counts as Tarnus Vale / Cypher

Counts as Vaylund Cal. As he doesn't have a ranged weapon as such, I figured I could put a flamer in his hand rather than build it on to the Servo Harness.

And finally, a Siege Master based on Alexis Polux, which is just a lovely model.

Awesome army man.

Where did you get the head for the Alexis Polis conversion?

Honestly, it's just one of the regular helmets from the MKIV Tactical kit from Betrayal at Calth. Effective though!

Awesome siege master.

The assault terminators are looking great.

Excellent work on the Chapter Master and the Assault Terminators. Are the Terminators meant to be the Chapter Master's Honor Guard?

Thanks all! The Terminators were imagined as being his bodyguard, and it's one of the reasons I based them on Phoenix Terminators, to get that visual link with Moloc's really ornate Tartaros Armour. That said, there is also an actual Honour Guard squad in the works, based on a Palatine Blades squad.

I'll want to use the airbrush for basecoating, especially vehicles. I use GW Brass Scorpion as my base colour; should I thin it with water, or will Tamiya thinner be suitable? I'm not really sure how well the different paint ranges interact with each other.

I use Liquitex Airbrush Medium. I find it works really well.

So, I've been working away on my third ETL vow, which currently looks like this:

That's 3 Devastator Squads, a bunch of counts-as Characters and the Warhammer World Command Tanks set. :)

Progress is slower than a slow thing on a slow day, but I'm hoping to get a couple of solid evenings of hobby time in this week. Anyway, here are the Command HQ Tanks and the Characters.

I can't stop  procrastinating about new models though, even with this horde lying around waiting to be finished!
