That my Call of Chaos vows all complete now

 

I Insane Psychopath answer the Call of Chaos with the Iron Warriors 5th Grand Company and vow to complete

  • 2 Sentinels with Autocannons
  • 2 Sentinels with Autocannons
  • 2 Leman Russ
  • 3 Wyvern tanks
  • 1 Iron Warriors Sorcerer
  • 1 Iron Warriors Vindicator
  • 1 Nurgle Chaos Lord in Terminator armour
  • 8 Bloodborn - Unit of Chosen with Mark of Khorne + Rhino transport.
  • 1 Thousand Sons Sorcerer

Before December 15th 2015. If I do this successfully I will receive the Mark of Spilled Blood and continue on the path to ruin. If I fail I’ll wear the Mark of the Lost and I expect no mercy on my soul!

 

Just finish painting the Nurgle Lord in Terminators armour during the weekend there, painted Saturday, varnish & weather powder on Sunday.

So I've been writing research papers for what feels like ten millennia now and I've had absolutely no time to paint. The Knight's barely past the basecoat and I haven't even started on the Toads. And it's finals week. So I'm getting Spawn'd again. Oh well. At least these threads are always fun to watch, even when you fall behind. Spectacular work throughout. Chaeron, wow, you came outta nowhere.

I'm not going to claim this is my best work, because I just haven't been feeling this paint job from start to finish. Lots of stuff going on at home and work right now, and it was a total chore to force myself to sit down and do this, but here it is.

Ahhh so I failed :( Despite my best efforts yesterday I've only managed to complete around half of my vow.

 

Capt Semper, yeah I miscounted when I said about my completion and here's the only before pic I have of the Blood crushers, the two grey Juggers at the back, one of them became my Lords mount and the other a Herald.

I'm at work just now but will post the pics of my (failed) Vow when I get home. I knew from the start I was being a little ambitious with my pledge but really wanted to push myself and the fact I've painted more models in the last few months than I have the past couple of years means I'm still rather proud of myself ha. Time management has been my biggest problem with starting a new job recently and looking after a 10 month old baby and just honestly not being in the right mindset to paint at times. I am looking forward to the ETL now though.

+++THE EIGHTH CALL OF CHAOS HAS OFFICIALLY ENDED!+++

The 8th Call of Chaos has reached its conclusion! This was the most successful yet in terms of participation with 71 participants and a completion rate of 45%. Interestingly more than 50% of the completions were Warmasters of Chaos – that means that there is a lot of competition for the top job in the Eye! On the opposite side, the amount of spawns that join the ranks of the damned this year increased to 40 – the Gods are laughing at their predicament!!!

As is the case every year, it was tremendous fun to see all the effort put in this event, and I thoroughly enjoyed seeing all the diverse Chaos minis painted with such a commitment among various skill levels. I feel especially proud that the Chaos community is endorsing this event to make it truly their own! The most important thing for the Call is to give the opportunity for the frater to interact, steal ideas, discuss techniques and of course admire each others work.

I for one am very impressed that after the phenomenal performance in two ETLs as well as last year’s Call, the Chaos community is still finding inspiration to commit to such a high output. Now if recent rumors are anything to go by, we may see a new Codex coming out in early 2016, which will undoubtedly reinvigorate the appetite of veterans as well as attract new followers to the Chaos calling! Seems to me that 2016 will also be a year of Chaos!

Now let’s see how the participants of the Call performed this year.

Chaos Spawn? I finished 3 units, the Sorcerer, Obliterator and 5 Thousand Sons (not half the Chaos marine unit as listed on the first page).

 

I thought that Spawn rank was if you failed to complete a single unit of your vow. Or am I mistaken and you have to complete everything, but the number of units in your vow determines which rank you receive?
