Ivo is an interesting case. Unlike the rest of the Hallowed Text Word Bearer Warband he does not bear the iconography of the Word Bearers anywhere on him... although nor does he wear the icon of the Iron Hands either, having blackened out the symbol long ago. Ivo is not a direct part of the Hallow Text but rather an ally of them. A Heretek from the Mechanicus for the crimes of progress, experimenting with warp energies and self augmentation (in Ivo's own words) he left behind both the Iron Hands and the Adeptus Mechanicus, his shoulder pad on the right symbolizing the Dark Mechanicus instead. Ivo often works to assist in maintaining the vehicles of the Hallowed Word and their allies when not on the battle field as well as assisting others in augmentations of their own.

 

However this is darker than one might think. All that is left that is not machine in Ivo is a single eye and his mind, the rest of his body replaced with metal parts. His experiments with cybernetic implants, baleful chemicals, experimental use of warp energy and tinkering with the Obliterator virus is one of the reason the Hallowed Word have such a large number of Spawn, some of which follow Ivo onto the battlefield. On the battlefield Ivo becomes even stranger. Thanks to his almost entirely mechanical body, the odd machines implanted into him and his suit, and his modified bike, Ivo is able to simulate extreme toughness, strength, speed and even manifest mystical barriers of pure warp energy or use the bike to fireoff bursts of psychic power. His Servo Harness, modified by the Dark Mechanicus, does not seek to repair on the battlefield but rather to destroy, to tear apart the opponent, harvesting metals and organs for use by himself and the more experimental of the Hallowed Word for a later point. In battle beyond the bike itself he weilds a dark axe with the shifting face of a demon of brass, warp energy coursing through it at Ivo's wishes... with all his experiments, it's hard to know how much of it and the bike are seperate from Ivo anymore.

 

Never the less Father Black, Dark Apostle of the Hallowed Word Warband, with the agreement of those under him consider Ivo a fellow brother in the worship of Chaos. The sentiment is returned heartily as Ivo is often mistaken for a Hallowed Word member and has lead small forces for the Warband prior. Among the host it is whispered that this is because Ivo was formerly an Iron Father, a unison of Chaplain and Techmarine, and when he fell to Heretek, he also became a Dark Apostle. This is a secret only truly known by the Inner Circle of the Hallowed Word and Ivo.

 

Mechanics wise, Ivo can be used as a Chaos Lord or Sorcerer with any mark applicable and a Power/Force Axe/Relic of choice (a Murder Sword could be him augmenting his strength and speed to overdrive, for example), He's an Iron Hands Traitor who I WOULD have freehanded a 3.5 Ed style red cross on his shoulderpad for... but I'm crud at Freehanding. It's also why he bears a mechanicus gear instead of Gear + Eightpointed Star... well, that and the pad is cramped as is. His base is black on purpose: The Hallowed Word work out of a Daemon Industrial World where the very earth is blackened. Consider him done.

I am a sucker for it, especially with the theme and the Black Legion artwork, it was like an order from the Warmaster himself!!
