Hey everyone, well I've begun a new heresy era project.

This time i'm focused on Heresy era Night lords with Knights,Navy and hopefully some titans in the future as allies.

I'm having a great time painting these guys.

Anyway, the first squad i did is this bunch of 5 tactical marines just to test the scheme i had in mind. nothing fancy about the mini's just a paint test.

After what i believed was a successful test, i tried the same scheme on a vehicle, namely a Javelin land speeder.

The glaze went on a little thick on this, so i have since changed my recipe accordingly!

Thanks my man! the metallics was a literal last minute decision when i saw a potential colour in the shop, a risk I'm now happy i took!

 

Great looking Night Lords. The Speeder could be a bit more shiny like the marines, it might just be the photos though. Other than that I can't wait to see more.

 

Hi buddy, thankyou! yep, totally agree on the speeder, still perfecting the recipe/method i use to get the blue right. i think my glazes went on a little thick or i did too many of them. hopefully should get it sorted soon!

Well, although not overly happy with how the following turned out, i figured i should show the first attempt of a knight.

issues are:

1: i realised i should have airbrushed so got bored painting, therefore the quality shows!

2: spent more time on the freehand, it was super rushed!

3: made the purple more blue. if that makes any sense!

I'm not normally a fan of metallic armour but you have got it spot on there. That is extremely nice work. thumbsup.gif

Hi, me neither! i felt it was worth a try and i feel it worked!

Wow... the purple/blue on that Knight is gorgeous.

How did you do the bronze color on his weapons, armor trim and the like? If you don't mind me asking.

How in the world did you get that nice deep metallic blue... It's gorgeous

Its a lot of glazes/filters and washes. maybe i should tutorial it. would make nice alpha legion with some tweaks!
