Hey hey update is here!

So I started some much needed thralls! I still had 20 mechanicum skitarii guys laying around, so I ended up implementing them into this dark mechanicum army:

My cogs and bits and parts and stuffs finnaly arrived! Here is a pic of this amazing little bowl of treasures:

So with that, I started working on Xander again! These pics are kinda oldish now, I only have one pic of Xander in his actual form right now.

This is Xander in his present version, as you can see I added studs on the kidney plates, bluetacced the head and worked on the collar. i am contemplating on removing the skull with iron halo on the front though, it might kinda limit Xander's movement, what are your guys thoughts?

A thallax warrior (His budies are being build) and a Thanatar, both are my own versions of the amazing models from Forgeworld, they are about the same size (My thanatar stand-in has another base with a small mountain like thing on top of it to make it just as tall as the Thanatar)

Knight Atrapos, The Shard, Ilitzii Prime minister, the god walker

The Shard, once known as Yaru the troubled, is a prized artefact in Xander's regime. The Shard belongs to Xander's brother's knight, it being a treasure in the Travier family. The Shard is a very rare and upgraded Archeotech 1-08 Atrapos Siege Knight from the ancient factories of Xandra.

The Shard is part of the house known as "The glass tower" or more comonly known amongst the people of Xandra and other local systems as "The god walkers". The Shard's pilot takes up the main advisor spot for the household, advising Prime Minister Yalu the Immortal (household master of the God Walkers) on the most important war matters.
The largest part of the God Walkers is either a child or at least a relative from Xander Travier, the lord's immortal life making him able to see the house grow and improve.

The Shard itself, an Atrapos Siege knight, is a sight to behold. It's carapace the color of Jade, its decorational ridges the purest of Bronzes. The face a dark mask of death. It's mask is a large void-black face plate. It was designed to strike fear into the hearts of the God Walker's foes.
Golden swirls and thropies bedeck the jade plates, skulls from long dead kings and lunatics covering the beautifull plates.

A storm of wires and mechanical arms expand from under the knight's carapace. They are a side product from Xander's later ties with the dark mechanicum. This later resulted into a greater deamon inhabiting the knight, it's menacing aura now a aura of horror and disgust. The Shard's power was greatly enhanced by the deamon, its head and some parts replaced with every changing deamonic energy.

The Shard has a dark past, it's violence record exceeding that of any other knight. When the Shard fights with it's house, most would expect to it being a freeblade, a once expelled knight for it's past violence. The truth is the exact opposite, the violence of the machine makes it the ultimate spear leader. Leading the youngest and most energetic of the house, the warband forming a formidable blade to cut any foe's troath.

Sooo, my first post on how I go about pimping a knight model tongue.png ,the model will be a challenge to build and paint. It will be the first knight I ever do, I am gonna convert the model from one of the plastic knights from GW, lengthening the legs, changing up alot on the model. And add a hanging servitor from the chest and neck. To create a unique looking knight, maybe it will help you more if I get you some pics? msn-wink.gif(I have been rather sick lately, so sorry for the lack of updates, or the lack of fixing broken image links)

As you can see, I started with the normal plastic knight legs, adding a quick unmeasured and kinda messy piece of 3 Milimeter plastic card between where normally there would be the joint. With some paint bottle ends and adding some wires and bits to kinda bring the whole part together.

That's some impressing scratch building. One small suggestion, putting a rounded armor plate on the middle section might tie the leg (or room) together a bit aestheticly

Thanks! I was considering it, but after looking/staring some more at Xander, I ended up not wanting to change the plate, as it ties it more to the whole army ;)

Oh aaaaaand:

As you can see, I build the knight a bit further, all that is left is extra detailing, finishing the right arm and making that hanging pilot a bit more... Awesome ;)

ATTENTION: I am looking for inspiration for a cool new character model to create using either the Isabella Von Carnstein model, or maybe another model (Could be anything, you decide ;) ), if you have an idea of what you would really love to see as a dark mechanicum character, please post it in the comments ;)
