Say, I've seen that paint scheme before... That's almost the exact scheme I did on my Sicaran. Looks real good man.

I just had a look at your WIP thread they really are very similar Sicarans. I hadn't even seen yours first :smile.:

Great minds think a like clearly!

Update on my progress with the Sicaran. Ive done base colours, airbrush highlights, edge highlights. I've also started dry brushing the metals. I have just decided to paint the section around the drivers view slot red so it needs a few extra coats.

Also I am working on a Rune Priest conversion.

Introducing Morten the Black. Morten was sent to the Deathwatch as a Blood Claw, much in the way many of the Vlka Fenryka end up in the Watch. His Lord tired of his boasting and he picked one too many fights with his Lord's Wolf Guard. None of the Vlka's Priests would ever have predicted the Morten would one day manifest the power of the storm despite his abilities as a Skald. However after 100 years with the Watch the very day he stepped back on to the soil of Fenris, one of the worst storms in recent history struck the Aett. The Rune Priests studied the omens and all agreed that Morten was the cause. He had returned a much wiser wolf and it was clear he was on the path to joining the Priesthood.

Morten is known as 'The Black' from his days in the watch. He still wears his Deathwatch shoulder pad. He continues to paint one arm black in memory of those days and how much he learned. He rides a custom Bike gifted to him by the White Scars. He spent many years riding alongside a brother from the White Scars in his years in the Watch and chose a spear as his force weapon when he was raised to the ranks of Rune Priest. He rides to battle on the edge of the storm appearing where the fighting is at its fiercest striking hard and fast his spear glowing taking his foes in the throat. He rides with his Psyber-Raven Tempest.

He is just blue tacked together at the moment and the force halberd is not the final choice. Any comments or thoughts very welcome.

Bit more progress on my Vindicator today.

I'd decided on the same winter camo scheme from my Predator.

I then decided to go for hazard stripes on the dozer blade... which slightly makes the camo scheme invalid... but it looks good none the less so I'll stick with it.

Great stuff, I really like you pallet, personally I am not fond of very saturated color.

I have noticed that you use hobbyzone products, big fan myself.

GS skills are amazing basing on those bikes! Good luck with your loyalists!

Not entirely sure your is post is about my thread... But I'll say thank you anyway :)

Really liking that slate grey, very Fenris winter-y. The camo on that Vindicator works very well as a pattern-disrupt, though I would be tempted to add a few thin areas of either very dark grey (maybe the same slate grey) or very light grey at some of the edges of the darker blue patches, to further heighten the contrast in a few areas.

This is probably a very bad illustration of what I mean, but hopefully it gets the general idea across:

Thanks for the kind comments. I think your idea would look great... not sure if I have the guts to risk painting it

Final assemblies complete just the final weathering to go but the final shots will be in my completed thread.

My next project is a bit more challenging than I had quite realised.... the Forge World Fire Raptor.

My only experience with FW models previously is the Sicaran which went together incredibly easily with minimal reshaping or adjustment. This Fire Raptor is in no way shape or form the same. So many warped parts and bits that do not fit together quite correctly. However boy does it look good!

Its been quite a mission to get to where I am, definitely a challenge but totally worth it!

So I've not posted an update in quite a while but I have managed to get quite a lot done.

First up an update on my Fire Raptor. Building is now complete and it really was a pain to do, however I am pretty pleased with the results.

I have started to paint it but need to take some new photos.

I have also been working on my Vlka Fenryka force to go with my Sicaran and the Fire Raptor. I am going for a pretty muted scheme with little ornamentation on these initial squads although I have purchased some Spellcrow bits to add a few trophies to future models. I also intend to use hand axes for future close combat weapons where possible to add to the viking theme.

I have so far built half an assault squad that will get old school metal jump packs.

I have also painted a test miniature for the Cataphractii squad.

Any feedback would be welcome.
