Have a few points left. Bastion with comms relay is there to help Outflank any Vehicles (I would swap it for Wall of Martyrs Bunker, but I want the comms relay model). Venator is for shutting down Super-heavies. Heavy Support Squad chooms people to death from the Bastion with Mor's "Murderous Arsenal", while he himself rides with the Gorgons. Contemptor will find a corner and bomb people from afar, but I can easily change this build. Still have my Lord of War slot for a Super-heavy and plenty of other slots.

Can be convinced to change literally anything apart from the Contemptor (any load-out is fine) and Autek Mor, as I really want it to be Clan Morragul (this will also mean I'll need a target for Mor's Warlord Trait). I haven't bought a thing yet either, as I'm tossing up between using the awesome MkIII Iron Hands models or the cheaper plastic Mark IV. The list may be better suited running Cataphractii Terminators, but I do like the Gorgon models... I also might need to swap something for some Breachers to hold any home objectives.

Will it work? Doesn't need to be super-competitive, but I would appreciate the feedback regardless!

You could get two HCB'ing Predators with a handful of spare points instead of the Contemptor. Contemptors are awful HCB platforms, even for non-competitive games. They look really cool with them though...

But you said you want the Contemptor, so I'd swap out his HCB for like, anything else. A Kheres, choom... actually you have just enough points to double-graviton fist + pod him if you want.

Lol! Yeah, I figured that out earlier. Kinda wanted to run "Veneratii Oberas" from page 161 of Conquest, but it's really not a smart move keeping the HCB. :) Hmmm... double-graviton fist, you say?

Any other thoughts on the list?

Not too much, it looks decently fun, and relatively inexpensive. I can see how you could build it out of the Calth box with only having to buy the volkite weapons, a Mor figure (note that the Iron Father FW makes has the exact weaponry as Mor... just sayin') and the vehicles.

I guess my only other thoughts are you have a lot of points in transports and won't be able to make a significant showing vs air threats. It's also up in the air how much melta you'll face, and that's hard to predict. The vicious circle is people take ceramite, then people stop taking melta, so people stop taking ceramite, then people take melta... saves a lot of points without it though. Losing one LR and the ceramite on the other could get you two melta preds or a Deredeo w/Aiolos? I dunno, there are lots of little tweaks you can make, but where you're at isn't a bad place to start.

In my opinion the head of the gorgon about holding ground and hitting them hard in the rear with your tanks I suggest dropping the LR increasing your troop size and getting more tanks in there maybe running something like this.

You make a convincing argument there Trydragon! Tempted to do 15 Tacticals and 15 Breachers in my deployment zone, with Mor and the Gorgons pushing forward (with Implacable Advance) and armoured support Outflanking.

The Castellax is an interesting option. Mor has a Cortex Controller, so it seems worthwhile capitalising on it. But finding the right role for them is what's hard. Darkfire is pointless as you are going to be moving up with Mor, unless you go for 1 backfield with Paragon of Metal... Which negates the CC anyway.

Tempted to go for 3 Predators. 18 heavy bolter shots, 8 Predator cannon shots and a Machine Spirit magna-melta? Nice. :)

The Castellax is a fire target at 2k + running HoG list most of your heavy fire power is off table for T1 - T3 if you unlucky, so u need something too distract there big guns from you more Expensive stuff. I run it with the Mauler BC and keep it cheap then aim a for Tactical Squad if it gets there Bonus you going too mess them up if you don't it means they put heavy fire power in too it that could of been shooting your Troops.

Tactic I run

If you get T1

Outflank the Two Pred Squadrons be really Aggressive with the Spartan and Battle Auto, Bunker your troops in Cover in your Deployment and if they got a Supper Heavy Shoot the Venator at it this will give them Two targets they got too kill in the Spartan and Castallx, hopefully leveeing the rest of your army alone till your Preds turn up.

If you get T2 basically do the same but outflank the Venator as well if they got a Supper heavy

Cool, sounds pretty good actually. Couple of questions though:

- do you need Orth to make the Sicaran Venator effective? I worry that without BS5 & Tank Hunters it may fail to shut down a Super-heavy.

- my concern with the list is that Mor's "Murderous Arsenal" WT is wasted on a Tactical Squad. Would swapping a Predator Squadron for a Volkite culverin Heavy Support Squad still do ok?

- given the Outflanking, wouldn't this list need a Comms Relay, Damocles or Proteus to boost reserves rolls?

Orth makes everything better but the Venator still BS4 and has a 2 Shot Str10 Ordnances weapon so it quite reliable even Vs Flare Sheilds so he not needed + from a fluff POV he not part of Moragull

Mor's WT IMO is awesome on Larger Tactical Blobs Especially if they Fury, But on a Volkite Unit Its down right nasty and for 10 of them I think there 5 points cheaper then the Pred unit so yes you can Swap them round if you do that I be tempted to run Two Magna Preds in the Squadron you have left but you need too free up some points.

Comms Relay, Damocles and Proteus are all good in this list but at the same times you got too think about effectiveness and point sinks, my list is just a guide on what you can do, with 2.5K play around and let us know what you come up with.

Should be able to bring it up to 3k by adding some Breachers with graviton guns (plus a 3rd Apothecary & Vigilator) or any Super-heavy. Fast Attack slot to be confirmed (Javelins or a Flyer, as they'll benefit from the Comms Relay). Thanks for the help everyone!

Looks Awesome, but on the additions Don't give Breachers Graviton guns there Heavy weapons give them Volkite Chargers or Meltas, it works better for them IMO.

Also as your running HoG you only got one FA spot Just saying Normal Landspeeder can be Squadrend up in 30k and are really cheap and versatile I had a a bit of success running 2 LS with Multi-Melta and Gravation guns then DS unload everything at a target and anything short of a Spartan generally Dies.

Idea with the Breachers was to Scout them forward with a Vigilator, right in front of the enemy armour, creating an anti-vehicle zone. Probably have anti-tank covered though, so a Forge Lord in the Gorgons might be a better option! Can go for meltaguns on the Breachers and give the Sergeant a thunder hammer, artificer armour & Cyber-familiar for a surprisingly tough challenger.

Knew about the single Fast Attack, so if using Javelins they were going to squadroned (adding 1 at a time, given their £-cost). I kinda want to wait for normal Land Speeders to be done by FW before using them. :)
