If that's the case, and GW are the only option, I'd honestly magnetize the kits so you can use them any way you want, and bring two Gallants. Leaves you the most points for your Night Lords (how big are the games you play?), and you can just throw them right in their face and dare them to risk the 'splosions.

Archeron is awesome. I have one just haven't built it yet. I borrowed one from a buddy of mine several times to play test it out in several games. It needs to get in close to be effective, and effective it is with that hellstorm template infantry lawnmower. Then there's that high speed can opener of a cc weapon on top of that. 

 Other than that, I've just been running 2 Paladins as allies to my Mechanicum army and they have always been solid, simple, and effective.

I'm going to run an Acheron and an Atrapos in a 3000 point list alongside my 1st legion - would you guys think that's ok or a bit power gamey? I don't want to seem like a WAAC guy but I just like both of their rules and their fluff fits the knight household I'm making.

Look, at some point the points limit is large enough that a list, especially at 3k should be expected to have due recourse when dealing with other super heavies.

 

So no, its not power gamey since if he does kill both, your out roughly 900 points across 2 models.

 I really hope the Warden / Gallant and Crusader patterns are added to the Q Knight List. 

I own six imperial knights  two errants  , one errant / paladin  , a warden a crusader and a gallant  and id like to run them in 30k  once  I pick up a Lancer to be the HQ

Yeah, Knights can bite it surprisingly fast in 3000pt games. They typically aren't as sturdy as a heavier Lord of War, which you opponent will defs be equipped to handle at 3k.

Remember, I played a 5k Game vs Mechanicum/Knight with 5 Knights. 3 Died T2/3 (mostly because one exploded and scattered his S:D Hit into the one behind him).

 

Main Reason I lost was because, while it was technically a 2v1 due to how the campaign worked out, his Senechal Lancer tanked a 20 Man Medusan Immortals squad with Squadwide Melta Bombs for 5 Turns....and he immobilized my Spartan with Sigismund and Templar Bros inside t4 (It spent most of the game running away from the aforementioned Knights) before it got to the rest of his Army (which was Destructors, Castellax, Thallax and Secutors).

 

They aren't hard to kill if you can drown it in enough Lascannons (I had ~12 Shots a Turn from vehicles alone).

With the Way Stomp Works, if the embarked unit charges and doesn't kill your knight, you could potentially 'Walk' the stomp marker onto it and 6 it out.

 

....much like what happened to the Spartan the Immortals in the above account.

 

The only issue I see (unless house ruled) is that you need to take 2 Knights minimum as allies bc you can't take them as a LoW choice.

Or I bought another today, whatever.

 

@depthcharge12 thale Acheron loadout looks pretty sweet, hellstorm templates make me giggle and his chainfist sounds like it should have no issues crushing armor....if it makes it there....
