Fire Golem
About 100 according to Lexicanum. That looks like it's talking about 40k chapter organisation, not the legion. Hydriatus
Brotherhoods are Legion Companies under a new designation after the Khan rejoined his legion - so roughly the size of a 40k Chapter I think. Conn Eremon
According to the Terran Legion model, a Legion Company (100 Marines) are called Brotherhoods by a particular Legion. It also says that a Lord Commander, who is in charge of a Legion Chapter (1000 Marines), are called Khans by a particular Legion. I think the first reference is for another Legion, perhaps the Thousand Sons, since only the White Scars have Khans. This would make the White Scar Brotherhoods the equivalent of a Legion Chapter, roughly a thousand Marines. According to references in the Terran Legion model. In Scars, we have a new rank, the Noyan-Khan, which led a Horde comprised of many Brotherhoods. In this book's model, we have Noyan-Khans as Lord Commanders, Hordes as Chapters, Khans as Captains and Brotherhoods as Companies. Though their sizes would not be uniform. Those are the only two references we have that I am aware of, and they are at odds. FW will probably follow Scars closer than the Terran model, but choose whichever one you want. Yeah thats kind of why I asked this question, because I had found a couple conflicting descriptions. Personally I like the sound "Brotherhood" more than "Horde" for the chapters Thanks for all the info guys, I guess we should just wait and see what FW say. Cheers. Conn Eremon
Pretty sure legion companies number more than 100 The Terran model for Companies is a hundred, for Battalions is five hundred and for Chapters a thousand. Since the V Legion has not yet received the FW treatment, I listed this model, alongside the glimpse we get in their only full BL novel, as examples you can go for. Every Legion did vary in scale or organizational use from that base Terran standard, though. Most Companies did seem to be more than a hundred, especially if they were the basic unit organization of the Legion as many (too many) seem to do as time progressed.
