I painted up a bunch of white scars primaris HQ and my favorite by far is kor'sarro (the rest will be in a separate thread). I pushed myself with the faces a lot on this piece; I wanted his to be tanned and full of life, as is befitting a white scar, while the trophy was to be pale and lifeless with rolled up eyes. I honestly can't wait to try this scheme on a  forgeworld piece where the detail is a bit sharper and I won't cover up the eyelid and lose some of that almond shape to the eyes. The symbol on the back is mongolian for....Mongol.....but its so stylised and old that I figured I could get away with such an otherwise on the nose reference.

I love the skin tone you have achieved. I think it's just what you were going for. The GW attempt looks a little pale to me.

Thanks! And yea their official style trends to quite pale, which makes sense if they always keep their helmets on, but also makes for kind of uninteresting similarities.

Silver Skulls Captain

Decided to got with a wasteland base to contrast with the armor scheme. I tried a lightening effect on the power sword and it came out looking terrible. :(

Finally got my first bunch of templars done, and leading the charge is my take on the new Emperor's Champion. I used the night sight function on my camera for the first time, and it turned out great...with the exception of the blood effects, but that's what more pictures are for. It's also my first real time trying to do grimdark/blanchitsu style, keeping to warmer and mainly desaturated colour choices and I'm very happy with the result.

Those are really impressive. The Morghasts work really well as Tzeentchian demons.

Silver Skulls Prognosticator Shadar Wrythe is ready for the battlefield.

Project complete: Silver Skulls Prognosticator Shadar Wrythe is ready for the battlefield. This was my most challenging project to date. Did the cape from green stuff, did some OSL from the glowing green lightning against the base of the rock, did a red force sword for the first time, and kitbashed my ass off. I'm happy with how some things turned out and less then happy about how other things turned out. Overall I consider this a success and look forward to getting him on the battlefield soon. #Silverskulls #primaris #kitbash #librarian #spacemarines

These are a decade old but they are the last ones I painted before my recent return to the hobby (I think they were also part of a pledge here, cant remember exactly).

I plan on touching up the epistolary and Asmodai a bit since I see some stuff I dont like.

New Phobos Lieutenant for my Deathwatch: LT Yasuke of the Mantis Warriors, totally inspired by Krakendoomcool's gorgeous Mantis Warriors.

"His name was Aggni Blondmane. The gilded wolf, champion of the Grey. He took the fang of Galfahgh'nn the ice-drake as his blade. The fiery razor-teeth of a hatchling hel-wraith, lined the smile of his axe. His fury was legendary and his wrath marked the death of many a foe. His weapons never rested and his horn was never dry."

The Allslayer, Gifted One, the Young King himself, Lord Ragnar Blackmane.

I converted the already great looking Primaris model by replacing the outstretched hand with a bolt pistol from Krom and Ragnar’s fancy left hand shoulder pad cut and dremelled from his firstborn fine cast model. Here’s a top down view to see how it fits.51864784109_561106bfd1_o.jpg

I’ve been a fan of Ragnar since I first started Wolves and 40K back in the early 90s. This is my first painted Ragnar model and in a change from usual 95% of it was painted by me! Of course I went with his original blond hair because that was the Ragnar I first knew and I’ve been very upset with every studio iteration of him since. I’m very pleased with the final result and excited to have him finally lead my Wolves on the table.

And Ragnar’s mentor, Grandfather Lupis, Ulrik the Slayer. About 60% painted by me.51864784114_7344bbbf4d_o.jpg
