I know that's where he got the name from, but I have never seen a picture of him blonde, or remember a text saying the same.

You can download a copy of the very first Space Wolves vs Orks battrep from White Dwarf 158 nearly 30 years ago. I shows 1st edition Ragnar in all his blondness. :biggrin.:

The fluff about him getting his name is in the same issue but sadly not part of the PDF. I think it was 3rd edition when the Eavy Metal team decided the name should refer to his flowing locks too.

It's been a fiddly model to paint but it was a nice change of pace from cranking out Ulthwé Guardians.

That's a really fresh looking Big Mek, Graymane. Was it mostly scratch-built? I don't recognise any of it really. I think it looks amazing.

thank you! :)

Build bit can be seen here

its a necromunda ogryn at its core with numerous bits. :)

Model I finished for the wife with several elements from her favorite genres.

-pink and blue “dress” from Sleeping Beauty.
-the starry (deep in heart of Texas, clap clap clap) cloak with a certain phone booth

-purple because it’s purple.

Here is Dante in all his finished glory!

This is one of the nicest models I have ever built and painted. Assembly was nice and easy with sockets on all the joints to ensure the parts lined up smoothly. He is covered in detail that is lovely to paint and the nice open pose makes getting at all of the detail a doddle. I can't wait to field him.

@Karhedron Great work, I like the golds (frankly, I find your style better than the official paint job) and the 'old-school' base. An excellent blend of classic touches and modern design.

Thanks very much.  Getting good results out of the metallic paints is pretty much making a virtue of a necessity as I have never managed to master NMM. Every time I try NMM gold, the model ends up looking like a highlighted toffee. So I play to my strengths.

First is my completely kitbashed Magos Reductor Quintus. Lord of the Ryza delegation to Furor Shield. I am so pleased with how this has turned out. It started with some ambot legs and me wondering, how can I use these for my mechanicus. Then I just started attaching bits to each other and here we are! After looking into the different types of tech-priest I figured this guy had to be one of the ones whose only concern was war. They've upgraded pretty much their entire body to be a machine of destruction. And what a machine it is! No less than 12 different kits contributed to this beast. Can you guess all the parts?

Next of my mechanicus detachment is Magos Dominus Hadrianus. When they aren't fixing tanks and crafting bolters they're killing xenos alongside the deathwatch of Furor Shield. My watch fortress needs a lot of technical staff and so they have a full time delegation from nearby Forge World Ryza. Hadrianus is one of the senior magi in the fortress. Not a big conversion bit I head swapped for a kataphron head and added a flamer arm with a servo claw. Definitely not game legal but I'm unlikely to actually bring it to a table so it just has to look cool

Feel the righteous fury at speed! As you can only buy outriders in groups of 3 I thought I'd make one into a biker chaplain! All in all I'd say it's come out pretty well don't you think? The helmet is (like most people's chaplain conversions) just a slightly modified Riever helmet. However! I've green stuffed a skeletal ribcage for the torso which looks awesome and I added an iron halo to the helmet. The crozius is from chaplain Cassius with the U filled in. They are Sadran of the Liberators. Lots of details on this one. I added several deathwatch sigils, a backpack eagle, some relics and the book from chaplain Cassius. I could probably have added more details to the legs as they seem a bit bare but oh well, it's still a great model. Other than the crozius none of the pieces are from any chaplain kit. I think it's a pretty sweet conversion! I haven't done quite as much ornamentation as most chaplains but that's mostly because I didn't feel like I could sculpt those details. Still looking pretty great though I'd say.
