Wraithwing
Greetings battle-brothers, Almost 20 years ago I stumbled into a Games Workshop in my mid teens, and discovered the wonderful world of Warhammer 40K. Since then, I've collected so many armies, for so many factions, I've lost count. One thing remains consistent though: I have only ever managed to fully paint and complete one Warhammer 40K army in nearly 20 years! I realise that many of us bear the curse of the magpie. As such, I decided it was time to collect, build and paint a complete Warhammer 40K army for posterity. To do this, I've chosen Space Wolves, Harald Deathwolf's Great Company, the Deathwolves, to be precise. This will be my fourth Space Wolves army I've started collecting, and this time, I am determined to finish them. So, here's what the army will consist of: Harald Deathwolf Iron Priest on Thunderwolf 6x Thunderwolf Cavalry 20x Grey Hunters 10x Blood Claws 10x Fenrisian Wolves 5x Terminators 1x Dreadnought 3x Drop Pods 1x Stormwolf Gunship Unlike any army I've ever done before, I own all the miniatures, with the exception of 5 more Fenrisian Wolves. So, here's what I've done so far: And heres what I'm currently working on: Still to build are the rest of the TWC riders, the Dreadnought, the Drop Pods and the Stormwolf, though I made a start on that last night. As always, I appreciate any C&C that comes my way! Soric
Those wolves are very well painted. The red shoulder pads are striking against the blue/grey armour. Marqol
Those wolves are ace, the marines and the animals! The Fenrisians and the Thunderwolves look really natural. Wraithwing
And so begins the Iron Priest on Thunderwolf WIP: I thought I'd have to cannibalise my Stormwolf Pilot, but actually, I think I can make this guy work. Kelborn
Sadly, I got no likes left for today. ^^" But by now it looks pretty well and you choosed my most favorite wolflord besides the one defending the Fang... Forgott his name. So I'm excited to see more of it. Btw, where's Canis? ;) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/318280-haralds-deathwolves-a-space-wolves-wip-painting-blog/#findComment-4280042 Share on other sites

I love me some fluff though, so I'd like to include him to lead a TWC pack or FW pack. Anyway, progress! Need to add more Wolfy Bling! Wraithwing
Time for a couple of updates! Blood Claws are mostly finished, just the basing left to do: I also broke out the airbrush, to try out some Citadel Air Russ Grey I bought the other week: So, that's 23 power armour bodies based coated in Russ Grey in about 20 mins. Quite pleased with that!Cheers, WW Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/318280-haralds-deathwolves-a-space-wolves-wip-painting-blog/#findComment-4284548 Share on other sites
Sgt. Blank
Really nice work so far - the paint on everything looks great, especially the bare heads Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/318280-haralds-deathwolves-a-space-wolves-wip-painting-blog/#findComment-4284559 Share on other sites
Wraithwing
Time for another update. Progress has slowed a little, due to a heavy week at work, including being out of the country for the day for a meeting. Other than that, the fire still burns for the Sons of Fenris! One thing I wanted to do was include a BlizzShield Dread in a drop pod. However, I also wanted to magnetise the sucka, as I felt it would be a waste not to. So, after what feels like a thousand magents, and gallons of super glue, I now have this guys: With the new Wulfen release looming, I wanted to have options for Murderfang, as you know theres gotta be a formation with him and Wulfen. I've also magnetised the ranged weapon arm, as well as the fist with the Wolf Claw (not shown). The ranged weapons can easily be swapped out, and just push fit into the arm casing. I need to add smoke launchers, as even though MF doesn't use them, I think they look cool, and will likely use them for the BlizzShield Dread. Also, I still need to magnetise the Storm Bolter and Heavy Flamer. As always, C&C are welcome. Wraithwing
Also, finished basing my Blood Claws today: And time for a sneaky group shot: Only 27 more Power Armour bodies to go! Wraithwing
Time for another WIP updates, this time my first pack of Thunderwolves! I wanted to paint each Wolf differently, yet try and maintain a cohesive paint scheme: Still a few minor details left to do, and the basing, but getting there. Let me know what you think. Did I achieve my goal of a cohesive look? SW1
I'm liking the look of these. I'm feeling the pull of the pack at the moment and seeing this is making it hard to resist. :tu: The wolves nicely go together while keeping a degree of individuality. Keep the good work up!!! :D Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/318280-haralds-deathwolves-a-space-wolves-wip-painting-blog/#findComment-4294178 Share on other sites
