Sisters as allies to marines?

Recommended Posts

Sisters can add a lot as allies, for Marines perhaps less so than other armies but Sisters run a bit cheaper than Marines but with equal or greater fire output. That's pretty nifty as you can imagine especially if you take the like of Dominions. Otherwise standard squads can bring some mechanised melta or flamer punch which can go down very well in a similar themed list but they also offer the ability to get lots of power armour and bolters on the table if you'd like.

Cheers warriorfish im thinking melta dominions in a pod and a flamer sisters squad in another. Only place where im stuck is what HQ to take

So heres my planned allied detachment of sisters roughly hoping it as well as 2 more pods should fit in 500 points

Cannoness with eviscarator rosarius mantle of eternal warrior

10 battle sisters flamer heavy flamer

5 dominions with 4 melta guns

Give the cannoness two inferno pistols for the same price as an eviscerator. Even with it she's not much in combat, but two extra meltashots with the dominions is nothing to sniff at.

St Celestine makes a great addition to a Bike squad kitted for Close Combat - use a kitted out Chapter Master to tank stuff while Celestine provides initiative 7 for Hit and Run and Sweeping Advance.  Plus she's no slouch in combat herself.  Ministorum Priests are also ridiculously good close combat force multipliers, especially because Sisters Priests can take the Litanies of the Faith relic to auto-pass those Ld7 War Hymns.  Obviously the lack of Jump Packs or Bike upgrades might limit the units they can roll with though.

Melta Dominions and Exorcists can also probably find a spot in almost any list.  The ability to put Sisters in Drop Pods is pretty nifty - drop a squad of 4 Heavy Flamer Retributors who activate the Rending Act of Faith, or Melta Dominions who activate Ignores Cover in someone's face turn 1.
