Ultramarines - Joining the Blue Brotherhood

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone

After a year of painting Iron Warriors for myself and a few other commission projects time to revisit an old army. Once long ago I had Ultramarines and with a box and a bit of Calth hanging around thought why not go with the boys in blue.

First rhino painted.

and a couple of WIP shots to show how the stages change things.

Thanks everyone.

Fantastic. Seems to be a few more gritty/weathered-style Ultra threads kicking around recently, good to see. Any infantry in this scheme?

Not yet but will be using the MKA guide for them. Have a nearly 2 boxes of Calth to add the infantry.

Not too shabby! Think I saw this on Facebook earlier to, good work!

Again thanks everyone for the kind words.

I'm still assembling infantry for myself and in the mean time I've started a commission of Guilliman's own. First finished is a Storm Raven. All assembly was by the client I only applied the paint.

Next up is a Land Raider Crusader.

The Storm Talon now has a twin which I forgot to take pictures of. Just finished this Vindicator. It was requested to be more heavily chipped and weathered than the rest of the army as there is always at least one in the client's army lists. A real veteran of the tabletop. Also requested was something to show a melta blast on the front dozer. I have never done anything more than some heat on weapons before so armed with that knowledge and google images of welding heat marks I produced something simple but reasonably effective.

Wonderful paint jobs Sir. Too bad you don't paint/drill out your gun barrels.sad.png

If the client wanted it I would.

Another week another vindicator. The request was for almost zero scratches and lighter weathering on this one.
