The Crusade to end all Crusades, ETL V

Recommended Posts

Ladies and Gentleman of the Templar forum it has come to my attention that there is no zeal around ETL. This is simply unacceptable, and you should all feel ashamed of this. We have a reputation to keep as the baddest and craziest sons of :cuss out there!

In past ETLs we were known for our spirit and commitment to the cause, where is it? Now I know that we will maybe be a part of the AOD but that is no excuse to be dormant! I don't care if we are our own faction or a part of the AOD we WILL have the highest completion rate and points value vowed. And if we work diligently and with zeal we may even have our own faction again, like past ETLs.

Now those scum in the chaos boards have been at it again with their talk of winning again. But brothers like all scum they have become content. They are going to play it safe, now do Templars play it safe? NO! They have said we are weak, and that we are not a threat to them. Brothers let's show them hell.

They have no reason to prepare, After the black primer they are 75%-85% done. Black Templar have it so easy.

That old chesnut again? Doesn't every army have an undercoat spray in their chosen colour these days? rolleyes.gif

Of course, if you're just spraying and leaving it, you're doing something wrong... teehee.gif msn-wink.gif

Zeal this, zeal that... Don't you guys know how to relax?

As a wise fellow once said; "Zeal makes all things possible." That we have it in abundance, only makes us more effective.

But what is this... "Relax?" Is it like the warm sense of satisfaction we feel when cleaving a traitor in 'twain, in the name of the Emperor? We do indeed know this too, then, yes. We shall endeavour to pursue this during the ETL.

:D

I don't know that I would go out and get something just for ETL, but if you're planning on adding an LRC anyway they do make a nice addition to both the ETL and any crusade. Just remember there may be Tank Shock events popping up in your area too, I'm hesitant to add any vehicles at the moment while I'm waiting for my flgs to announce when they're going to start them.

This is my first ETL and I will support the Black Templars with ZEAL worthy of a true Black Templar!!!!

I only have assault termies and a HQ to paint though will it be enough? Or should I think of investing in an LRC??

Like I said in the Chaos thread, every little helps. Not everyone can chuck thousands of points in, but a single character can swing things possibly.

It won't, because we're gonna win. But, y'know, fan that little flame of hope.

I think a lot of our problem over here isn't from the Bt subforum. A lot of the other marines forums are pretty dead, you can't even hear the crickets anymore it's so dead. There does seemt o have been a bit of resurgence with the Kayoun release for WS and RG though so hopefully that will help. I'm still torn on expanding the Crusade again or throwing down with IF and working some more on my Celestial Lions. Or can I do both? I seem to recall you only being able to pledge to one subforum, despite the units all being the same...

And another one called zeal "passion's unhealthy cousin." And he's righter than your dude too, 'cause he still lives today to behead people with Gorechild whereas yours croaked millenia ago.

CHECKMATE,

What is this exactly, and what can I do to help us crush the Chaos swine?

Annual inter-subforum competition.  Start with models either still gray plastic or, at most, primed.  Paint them up, get points.  Don't fail your vows.  And now there are more shenanigans, evidently.

So if you got models you're planning on painting in the immediate future, hold off until this starts.

Points are based off unit cost in points also so low model count/ high point cost units (HQs for example) are gold while things like transports and such (large, low points) are generally something I would avoid (though I did a Razorback last year) just because the time investment and effort doesn't really translate well based off the points. Unless they're doing something to balance that... Which would be awesome.

Not to say don't do them if you want to, just be aware that your investment in time may not be as well rewarded as some other things. After all a Rhino is going to take about as long as a Predator to complete, but only net you a fraction of the points.
