You are probably very right. I just got my book today, and tossed together a rough army list to figure out which models to buy in my initial order. Probably change out the photon thruster for it as you will want to be using Cybertheurgy or battlesmith instead of shooting. Mechinator array and battlesmith is on page 112. I could split the thallax up into two units of 3 with no upgrades. Drop a Castellax unit and add two more units of 3. Gives me 4 scoring units of 3 thallax each, costs me a castellax and 2 photon-thrusters. Worthwhile change? I guess I'm still in the mindset that all units can take objectives in 40k. You could consider: One squad of darkfire castellax and the atrapos for heavy armour. Darkfire castellax also like to have flamers since they don't really want to be in bolter range and benefit from the flamers in overwatch. One squad of castellax with mauler bolt cannons and two squads of thallax with phase plasma for s6 ap3 marine and light transport killing. You can add destructor if you have points to spare. And a swing squad of thallax with your weapon of choice. Some people like deepstriking multi melta thallax to hunt rear and side armour. Thanatar for basically any target not a flyer. Consider how you are going to handle close combat. You don't really have anything that you can use for speed bumps or counter assualt. All of your bots want to be stomping forward guns a blazing instead of being trapped in combat. This will likely stay the case until we get models for Ursarax or the other unreleased cc bot. Sorry, just to clarify on the advise you've provided: So, taking your suggestions as far as the list stands, I should consider; -adding flamers to the darkfire castellax - dropping darkfire from one castellax unit and run them with mauler - dropping the photon thrusters and chainblades from two groups of thallax and add phased plasma fusils to both groups - (I already have a deep striking Multi-Melta thallax team gear to go in the list as per your last suggestion) If that's it, should be simple enough, gear changes are pretty easy! Got two units of Thallax with marine killers, and another unit with terminator eliminators. Added 20 Tech-Thrall to absorb any melee threat so I can reposition my robots away from them, and add another scoring unit or bullet sponge.
