2 HOURS REMAINING TO JOIN!

IN JUST 2 HOURS THE DOORS OF ETL V WILL CLOSE FOREVER TO NEW PARTICIPANTS!

SO MAKE HASTE AND ANSWER THE CALL OF YOUR FACTION NOW!

@ totgeboren: Dude, I don't even know what makes me more excited: the fact that you have decided to participate (I've been a long time lurker on your army plog over on Warseer) or the fact that you've created what looks like a fantastic squad of 'zerkers -- any chance of a closer look at the models...?

Sorry, I don't have any more pics from before they got their undercoat (which they have now). I guess you'll see how they end up later when I get some paint on them. smile.png

Augustus - Kytan looking really cool, it a really fun model to paint & looking forward to the finish model.  There a Daemon Forge Kytan show case topic I'll need to bring back up.

@IP: I think Purple flames would probably work fine to mark out black legion as slaaneshi.

Thanks, I'll try that out on Sunday.  There almost there, it just trying to get those finial idea to sort click to make the models look cool :)

Also look like my lap top has finial given up.  Been contact by the store & they've just say that the memory board been badly damage.  So I've just made the chose to go for a brand new lap top.  Just mean I need to wait another few days or until next week before I can get photos posted.

Well I was planning on being done with vow 2 by now, but what with upgrading my PS3 & 360 hdds, E3, the Resident Evil 7 demo and having to assemble a new bed I have lapsed somewhat.....

However I have been painting for the last 6 hours straight and am at least 75% through the vow. gonna do some serious painting during the rest of the evening and hopefully get to the point of only having Lucius left :tu:

Nice to see we have had more devotees join our ranks, now to get on with the serious business of crushing our enemies, seeing them driven before us and I especially look forward to hearing the lamentations of the dress-wearers :P

Thanks guys! The Kytan is almost finished. I forgot some details here and there, but I'm celebrating with 10.8% Belgian beers right now, so better not start that. I'll work on him tomorrow and do a photo shoot.

Augustus the red on your Kytan is absolutly stunning. Would you care to share the recipe? Also I love your bases, they add so much to the models smile.png

It's a very simple recipe, actually: base with GW Rhinox Hide. Spray with FW Word Bearers Red. Then shade with GW rhinox Hide. Then Highlight back up with a 1:1:1 mix of FW Word bearers Red, GW Yriel Yellow, and GW Ssquig orange. I also did tutorials of how I do the building and painting of the bases in page 90 of my WIP. :tu:

LINKY NOW! ;)

OK everyone, the good news is we have 81 participants, which is a VERY high participation rate. We soundly beat the Codex faction, who got stuck on 76 participants. Our revow and avarage vow rate are both higher then they, so we got them covered.

The bad news is the history loving fools got us thoroughly beaten in terms of participation, as they have way over a hundred people who either don´t know when they´re beaten or who somehow thought that being a traitor yesterday means you aren´t one today.

So we need to step up our game and paint. Last year, our wayward forebears were in a similar position as they are now, and they lost because they got lazy. We can expect much the same of them this year, but that doesn´t mean we shouldn´t really commit. For they are in an even better position now. We did some awesome last minute recruitments, and we have a high average vow. Let´s keep it that way, plus let´s get to finishing our vows and revowing soon. Remember, it´s all about revowing and completions. :tu:

@Nemac: your Terminator on the left looks great. Maybe a bit shiny to me but that must be a consequence of your camera. Can't wait to see the full squad!

@Totgeboren: your Berserkers are tremendous! I used to follow your thread on Warseer so I know the completed version will be even greater.

@Augustus: you spoke like a true Warmaster! But I think you forgot one crucial element: we must thank Captain Semper for closing the Gates. Now that we're trapped with our future victims can the hunt truly begins...

Hunt well Brothers!

First unit of Cultists ready later today (just a flamethrower dude needing washing and highlights), what's the preferred format? My OP and add before and after for completed dudes? I can always just post for each squad that gets completed with before/after links to all squads.

Thanks Celtic_cauldron. I think it's more likely that I've been over zealous when editing the pictures unsure.png. The second Terminator has been finished also. Here ya go!

I'm using the Helbrute as a reward for painting all the terminators. I'll then vow a Lord to lead the army :)

Nemac

I've been cracking on the past couple of days and have finished assembly of the oblits and most of the CSM squad. Now I just need to get my hands on a Krannon and a FW rhino and I'm set! B)

Forgot just how much I love assembling chaos dudes!

Also, I'd like to propose something to everyone who has joined the Realm of Chaos Strategium, and even anyone with Chaos armies on the B&C.

We all love Chaos. It offers conversion opportunities, a wealth of fluff, and excellent miniatures. There's a reason why the Realm of Chaos has won two times in a row in the biggest painting event in the world, and might very well win a third time. It´s because Chaos might have the strongest, most dedicated following of all the 40K races.

Yet, the rules written for our faction are sorely lacking, especially considering recent publication by GW. I'm talking about Eldar, Tau and Space Marines. They´ve had 7th edition codices (some ven multiple!) published, as well as several expansion with highly competitive formations and special rules. Meanwhile, the 6th edition Chaos Space Marine Codex was never truly competitive, even when it was released it fell behind. Now, please don't think I´m whining about this. Regulars here know that I am one of the loudest voices saying we can be competitive. The problem is that only a very, very limited amount of list builds make us competitive, and even then you need experience and solid tactis to win. The contrast with the rich and varied background, as well as the multitude of specialist units in the Chaos arsenal, couldn´t be bigger.

Now, the ETL is an awesome event, and the fact that the Realm of Chaos has rallied for a third time, in unprecedented numbers, offers a unique opportunity. I would like to propose we, as a community, make an effort to spurr GW on to publish improved 7th (or 8th) edition rules asap.

What I propose is the following:

I draft a letter to GW, and publish it here in this very forum. This letter will make a very convincing argument to GW to invest in the Chaos army. Everyone, and I mean everyone agreeing with the contents of this letter, sends this letter to GW via email. In addition, all of us will endeavour to post this same letter, along with this intro, on all Chaos-related web-forums/fora, Facebook groups/pages, and other such Chaos related things, and try to convince as many people as possible to send this letter to GW.

If this post gets 20 likes (ie only 25% of frater that have vowed in this forum) before noon tomorrow, I will draft a letter and continue with the plan.

Who's with me????
