Recommended Posts

All I have left to do is Lucius!

Just finished the rest and am now going for a shower before a few hours of Kingdoms of Amalur, I'm back at work tomorrow with a 50 hour week ahead of me but I will get Lucius done by the next update and then on to vow 3 thumbsup.gif

Pics will be added once he's done.

Right then lads. We're basically neck and neck with the HH lot. I reckon if we see some solid completions this week then next week we'll pull out in front.

@ guardian31: Another vow - and two Knights at that! Good luck mate!

@ Uveron: What a disgusting completion Uveron! And I mean this as a complement! :D And I see the twins Knights theme is persistent! Let's see those beasts taking shape!

UPDATED TO THIS POINT!

Im out of Castellan Green and a few other paints atm so cant paint the rest of my vow until wednesday. Ive only got 15 Plaguemarines and a counts as Cypher left. Guess I could start Cypher now, do his robes and finish the armour later.

It's been a bit, but I have returned. And I come bearing Gifts of Mutation for everyone. Nah, I guess not really, but here's some pictures of my finished Chaos Land Raider. As always, I reserve the right to go in and make some touch-ups to the final product, but here it is:

These photos where taken a few week ago.  Just wanted to get use to new lap top & just show some of the models.  I hope to have a few more new photos posted later today.

Since then I've started to paint the purple flames on the right leg.  Just my friend want the force theme around the Slannesh Black Legion warband & wasn't quite sure how to go about doing that.  But armour 13 show a Slannesh warband with sort of flame look on the Fire Raptor?  So I've got the 20 Chaos Marine squad to paint today.  Then later this week just add some battle damage (chip) & base the models & that should be them.  Also going to try spare some time to paint Be'lakor & Abaddon.

Again, going to try take some new photos.  The last 5 plastic Berzerker & Icon Marine have just gotten gloss varnish on the shoulder pads so I can try add transfer onto the models this afternoon.  By look of it, this unit should be complete by Friday or possible the weekend.

It just the Rhinos for the Chosen units, but aim Friday & Sunday painting them as there a few idea I want to try out.

Hey doods,

I'm just monkeying around with this camera. I should have my phone back this week, then I will claim my vow completed and more importantly, revow. DL 's comment about us being neck and neck gave me a late burst of motivation, instead of going to bed, I stayed up late and finished my rhinos...

Pictures shortly, they are horrid, the colours seem all wrong and I couldn't make it focus.

@ Insane Psychopath: Excellent work, as usual! I have to admit that the combination of blue highlights and yellow chaos iconography on the BL legionaries throws me off a bit, but they are still painted very well, from a technical standpoint.

Love the Old Skool 'zerkers, especially the chevrons on the chainswords are a very nice 2nd edition touch!

@ Brother Jim: Excellent work on those Rhinos (those small "XIV" decals are strangely effective), but DUUUDE, that guy with the cowl is just incredible (fuzziness of the photos aside). Please post more (and sharper ;) ) pictures of him ASAP!

It The Fang (shadow grey) basecoat colour I use for the highlight & always been a colour I've like to use when highlight models like the Templars on my Iron Warriors base.

The models still needed tidy up.  As said there just these photos where taken a few weeks ago.

Can't do sharper picturesu until I get my phone back, there is a lot of stuff I want to talk about.

But for now here is a short list of what I still need to do.

1.Strip thypus, repaint

2.Finish rhinos

3.Finish dreadnought.

1.paint little details I missed, mainly back pack icons.

It's so fun to paint minis you kitbashed and converted yourself, I keep finding little bits I tucked away.

Here is a fuzzy army shot, I'm so close now , it's just been over a month.

All the completions and revows from everyone are looking stellar, really helped to keep me motivated and trying to step up my game. This weekend will be a good weekend.

Was going to say that's just IP's style homes, he's very by the book, so to speak.

My favourite is the power claw guy with horns and 're-breather.

Everybody's work looks slick,

Do you guys think I should paint the sorcerers skull to glow? I feel he needs some glowly effect. I tried the axe but it just looked naff. I think the axe would look better if it were rusted up.

Open to suggestions

Here is my next effort. Resisting the urge to vow it all at once. Might play it smart this time and try to focus on the painting

@ Brother Jim: Ultimately, the question is whether you want to draw the viewer's attention towards the skull. I think I'd caution against the glow effect, mostly because I think the cowled face should be the main point of focus. But maybe something to show the skull has some ritualistic significance, like daubing a rune or an X on its brow with Blood for the Blood God paint? Something like that.

That Daemon Prince in the last picture seems almost disappointingly unconverted, given your usual work ;)
