Second vow !

 

From IA13 Renegade & Heretics list, I vow to paint a Sons of Sek force composed of :

 

Renegade command squad : 1 lascannon, Command net Vox, Arch-demagogue with Carapace armor, Bolt pistol and Power fist : 92pts

1 Renegade Enforcer : Carapace armour, Power sword : 45pts

10 Disciples : Vox caster, Plasma gun, Krak grenades : 110pts

I gianlucafiorentini123 rise to the challenge of E TENEBRAE LUX and vow to complete the following on or before August 15th, 2016. Success will bring eternal glory to Chaos and failure will doom me to bear the Badge of the Oathbreaker until the year-end.

In addition to this if I do not complete this vow along with a future 3rd vow, I vow not to build or paint any Chaos related models until next March which shall be the beginning of the preparation for the next ETL.

For this the 2nd vow I vow a Chaos Knight Paladin with the Mark of Tzeentch for a total points value of 440.

... and my vow is finished!!  I had finished it Monday, but I had to dig out my light box to get a decent picture at all.  Such an awesome if gangly model, I didn't think getting a picture would take so long.  Looking at these now, it seems I need a small tripod as well.  Sorry for the touch of blur.  Glad I made it before the week's tally... at least I think I did.

My first attempt at realistic fire, I'm pretty pleased with how that turned out.  I think I figured out my blue recipe... finally.  Also used the new Skullcrusher Brass and Stormhost Silver paints, they go on really smooth and the metallic pigment is like the old paints were.  i.e. Boltgun Metal

 

Unfortunately I'm not going to able to vow again, my commission deadline is coming up and I need to focus on that right now.  It's been awesome to see everyone's progress and to take part.  Next year I'm going to try and take it easier over the summer to get a few vows finished for a proper ETL finish.  I'm glad I got this Herald done... but I have 3 more waiting.

This helbrute is killing me, I'm making progress with it, but it's taken over a week to get this far. Four sessions on the skin alone! and there's still a bunch of washes to do once all the bones, horns and metals are done (Nb I realise the photo is rubbish - it's one am and I used the tablet to take the photo) 

 

Anyone got six extra weeks lying around I could borrow?

I'm not sure if I will finish the vow in time. Life has a tight grip on me since June and I barely touched a brush since then. 1 1/2 oblits, 3 Plague Marines, 1/2 Sorc on Disc and a Tzeentch Sorc still wait for some much needed attention.

I, BrotherJim, heed the Call of Chaos, and rise to the Challenge of the El Tenebrae Lux for the second time, I vow to complete 1 Chaos Demon Prince, with wings, armour, murder sword, aura of dark glory, mark of Nurgle, for 270 points, and 5 Possessed Chaos Space Marines, with VOTLW, two gifts of mutation, mark of Nurgle, for 180 points, which gives me a total of 450 points from the CSM codex, on or before the 15th of August. I just wanted to quickly announce I've got my second vow done. That's another cool 450pts for the Chaos forum Thankyou very much Captain Semper. I'll make another vow in the morning. I feel like I have been working on the demon prince forever, so it's good to finally have it all settled. There is more I could do, especially for the wings, but I wanted to hold it there and make another vow.

Done and done on to the next one. I actually had a lot of fun with this one, though I've only scratched the surface really. I'll make another vow tomorrow.

Cheers everyone, for the kind words of empathy and support! I appreciated them all. Such is life: when one door closes, another opens. Don't fret about my ETL progress, btw: though slowed, I´m still determined to finish five vows and at least 6000 points. And after a 80km bike ride I'm super hyped to paint. 

 

@ Aasfresser: Come on buddy! That´s a couple paint sessions. Better do them now, when support is high!
 

@ Brother Jim: Dude, that is seriously one of the most evocative, menacing, and creepy looking DPs I've seen. Fantastic work!

 

@ Madkid: Great finish!!

Anyway spent a few hour painting up the Cultist for my friend Black Legion force & hoping to have them finish for Sunday.

So right now my aim is

Sunday - Pretty much just getting the Black Legion side of Vow 2 finish.

Monday & Tuesday in general just get them complete & ready drop off on Thursday.  I think the tournament two weeks tomorrow, just allow my friend to get a few games with the army.

 

Then mange to get a hour & a bit spare to get the Champion built for my unit of Chosen Iron Warriors for vow 2

So both the Champion & Bolter arm Battle Brother will both get undercaoted tomorrow & get the metallic armour stage all painted.  If all goes to plan, both should possible be painted by Sunday or Monday, just all depend how it goes with the Black Legion.

 

Right now I'm unsure if I will be able to get a vow 3 ready :(  It been pretty chaotic 7 months :(
So right now, next week all about getting the Black Legion force finish for Thursday.  Then from Friday during next few days I've got to tidy/clear my desk with my painting station & shelf's where my models are due to work that going to happen to the house.  So unsure how much impact it going to have, but same time I don't want anything damage while work happen to the house.

 

But if I can, then I've just got this today - Dreadclaw to transport my unit of Chosen

sorry Augustus missed the sad part, but chaos will always be there for you, i need a little painting break dont want to over do it, but semper said to keep them comming so my 3rd vow is now complete, my 4th will be larger, all out of normal terminators now, so need to relax a day or two and calculate models but think next will be around 1500points :)
