Der_H: Really nice looking Emperor's Children, and quite impressive how fast you painted your Sicaran!

Der_H: Some more quick progress! What purples are you using, it looks really nice

Thanks man, I bought an airbrush last year and am only hair starting to get used to it. I base 50:50 naggaroth and xereus purples, then highlight with xereus and then dry brush with genestealer. It works ok I think. :-)

So after hitting a low point after being rejected by the RAF and stupid crazy work hours that left me too tired to paint, was going to get my vow restarted today and was about to start priming when in found out that a number of my paints (and my primer) are all lumpy and basically ruined. So had to order some more. Not out for the count yet, will start as soon as my new paints arrive.

Lachdannan, the posing on your Templars is fantastic! Are those Death Company legs you've used on some of them?

Cheers! Very good eyes, yes they are DC legs. I liked the extra scrolls and running poses with them. Plus I had a lot spare.

At long last, I present the Aedifex Perditae, Warhound Titan of the Legio Crucius- completed, and ready to walk against the hordes of the Arch-Traitor Horus.

She has been one of the most rewarding projects I've ever completed, and really pushed my hobbying skills to the limit, not even accounting for the broken hand that's really been cutting into my hobbying ability over the last couple weeks. I even got to email Dave Taylor for advice- probably one of the coolest aspects to date, only (barely) eclipsed by the feeling of seeing her finished on my table. biggrin.png

With that, I think I'll have the take a few days to see if my hand is getting any better and if I can find the motivation to pledge another vow. The Aedifex was a treat, but the burnout is real. wacko.png

Hey guise,

too late to jump on the train?

Sorry, brother, but yes it is.

 There's always next year though!

That's okay, the 126th will support from the sidelines!

Guiltysparc, those are some sharp looking Jav's!

Been productive, vow 2 complete.

Btw, love the wip in this thread, lots of great ideas here.

All. That. Yellow. How do you guys do that? I'm just scared out of my mind whenever I even look at the general direction of yellow. And this is not even mustard or anything, it'l like the total yellow! Congrats mate, always impressed by the well painted IFs! :D

ermm... unsure.png FANTASTIC? YESSSSSSSSSSS! Another Titan - and a beautiful one at that! Well done sir - well done! And you testing your modelling g limits? That's what ETL plans to achieve! So I'm really proud for your achievement - if the ETL motivated you do it, then the whole think is worth it! Now take your time before you commit again, and make sure you'll finish if you do continue. There is a lot at stage now!

Hey guise,

too late to jump on the train?

Yes and no. You can join the fun with an out-of-competition vow. Out of competition vows are exactly like normal vows (eligible for the Custos Fidei if you make it or the Badge of the Oathbreaker if you fail) and you can post your progress here as well as your completed models, but your points won't count for the total of your faction. So feel free to vow and I will add your pledge in the first page! :)

UPDATED TO THIS POINT!

Quick question Cap, since the LAAOD book has made some pretty significant points changes across the board, how are we proceeding with the vows? I'm assuming that everything that's been vowed to this point will be retained as it is but for subsequent vows?

Finished the Thralls:

This means Vow 1 is complet!

For vow 2 I pledge 6 Thallax with two Photon Thrusters and the Destructor augmentation for 320 points.

I only need to add some sand to the base and then they are ready to get primed.

@ Balthamal: Yes. Vows can not be changed retrospectively. It's treated as if anew Codex was released i.e. people are to use the new points post release and retain the old points for vows made before the release (even if they are incomplete at the time of the release - it doesn't matter).

@ poom: Marvellous work as usual man, a great thing to have among the ranks of the B&C! :)

UPDATED TO THIS POINT!

Vow #1 complete.

Forgive the extreme gloss. The Tamiya clear has not been glossed and then dullcoated.  Decals and oil washes not applied yet either, but ETL done.

And, with that said, I hereby vow an Iron Hands Contemptor with TL Volkite Culverins and Heavy Conversion Beamer for a total of 225 points for the glory of the 10th.

So after way way way longer than it should have taken me to paint a ten man squad here's my first vow the only thing missing from them is the freehand on the right shoulders but until I get my fluff hammered out I don't know what that's gonna be so for now they're black 20160716_225521.jpgimgur

Now how do I put that banner in my Sig?

I, MindOfMetal, pledge for the last time this year to the EtL. I pledge to paint 1 Veletaris Storm Section with power weapon, 2 tactical support squads with volkite chargers and a Centurion with volkite charger, volkite serpenta, refractor field and cyber familiar. This comes to a total of 465pts (this isn't under the new rules as I don't have them yet, but will change the points if someone has an updated points level).

Finally decided to paint a bit of vintage Choom.
