Quick and dirty little Vow 3 from me, because I'm going on holiday next week and I reckon I might just about get it done before then.

Vow 3 - 400 points

Ultramarines - Legio XIII

Forge Lord Consul w/ Tartaros Terminator Armour, Cyber-familiar, Rad Grenades, Melta Bombs & Nuncio Vox - 160 pts

Blood Angels - Legio IX

Sicaran Battle Tank with Lascannon sponsons, Armoured Ceramite, Auxiliary Drive & Hunter-Killer missile - 240 pts

I've pulled these off Battlescribe, which I believe has been updated to include the increased base cost of the Sicaran at 160 points and possibly some of the other bits, as shown in the new Legiones red book. Apologies if this is incorrect/off!

It's something about the Sicaran that makes it so cool, I cannot get enough of it! And the Tartaros have always been my favourites - although I understand they are nowhere as popular as the (also awesome) Cataphractii... I short, I can't wait for this one to be done! :)

I'm still debating on how to do the House symbol, as what I want to do (freehand a rampant tiger) I find myself unsure if I can pull off. An alternative may be in order, but I haven't settled on what to do. All told, I'm happy with how he turned out! Now to do the other two (unfortunately not in ETL, as I know I won't finish them in time).

Making a start on the VIII and having played about with the airbrush and some colour combos I've ended up with this. I'm not 100% happy with the brush technique with it but it's a work in progress if nothing else. Think I need to make the violet layering more pronounced and the first blue coat less so. Need it popping more in the shadows and less in the highlights. Will try going over the top of it tomorrow and if that fails I'll do it from the bottom up to try and perfect it on the rest of the 15 man tactical squad before moving on to the Terminators and vehicles. Any feedback on this in particular would be greatly appreciated

Not sure what direction I'm going to go, color wise, on the rubble base to do a desert city to match the rest of the force, but the mini is done, barring oil washes.

Also, I really need to learn how to take pictures that are less censored.gif . And how to paint scratches. I am so not good at that, and they detract from the knee pads, unfortunately.

Not completed yet captain! Gotta finish Sigismunds helmet and get him mounted on his base, just highlighted all blacks on rhino and leviathan and satin varnished them for decals then weathering.

7 Flamers dudes on the block next :)

Hoping that I can fit another vow in before the deadline.

Have a Damocles nib from eBay on its way as well as a true scaled mki rhino kit from blood and skulls I've been sitting on for years waiting for a rhino kit.

Washed my dreadnought drop pod and techmarines this morning so hope to get the DDP in before the end

@Ovidius Incertus I'm super jealous of your choomtemptor that's the same loadout I wanted to build but the guy I got mine from didn't have the choom so I got plasma. And your paint turned out freaking ace man Ferrus would be proud. Did you follow the fw recipe?

@lionofjudah those fists are amazing brother and I love the pose on your Leviathan I may yoink that idea for one of mine if you don't mind?

It wasnt as hard as I thought it would be so I might actually complete my vow in time. But first I need to order more paints from FW.

I did, almost to the letter, for the armor plating.  Only change was I substituted Biel-tan Green for their Tamiya Clear Green.  I have the Clear Green, but spraying those Tamiya clears is such a hassle, I limited it to the Smoke/Yellow and the Smoke coats they call for.  I did use the Rub n Buff Pewter, which I think does actually make a difference vs. a drybrush of a normal silver acrylic.

 

The arms are magnetized and I do have an extra choom arm that I didn't paint for the ETL!  Choom for the choom god!
