I might not get it done in time because I refuse to rush this paint job after putting so much work into the build, but I will certainly try to meet the deadline.

@ BCK - you know that base colours still counts as finished(it may not be "YOUR" Finished but for the ETL that would still count as finished ... just sayin

Wrong attitude! There are no rules concerning painting standard: as long as you paint units to your own completion standard, then they're finished. If your standard is well above and beyond base colours - like BCK's standard quality most assuredly is - then that's the standard he should aim for. People set their own standards in the spirit of the ETL...

Exactly there's no point doing something your not happy with, etl is about continuous improvement and motivation.

Hell look at my models from 2 years ago to today. Massive improvement and next year I'll do even better

You seriously misinterpreted my post.

I am well aware of BCK's work Quality!, what i am saying is that if he wants to not forfeit on his pledge he can finish the base coats on his vehicle and call it finished for the ETL not for "him" and he is then free to spend the next 4 weeks putting on headlights and weathering the front 2 panels .

He Made a Vow... not sure how serious he is about it but that is a way to uphold honour AND finish a model to his exacting standards... if he felt he bit off more than he could chew he shouldn't have entered( i don't say that with animosity towards BCK so please don't read it that way).

Vow 3 Complete!

The red on the Sicaran's a little richer in real life, and I'm really pleased with it. Turns out a Black undercoat with Mournfang Brown spray and Mephiston Red spray used like an airbrush turns out pretty good! And dat BAMF Forgelord tho. He's turned out pretty dang well considering I've painted exactly one other Ultramarine in my 18 years of hobbying.

My third vow, for a total of 585 points, is now completed, and with that, so is my participation in the ETL V. I thought about vowing another Tactical Squad and/or Knight, but it just seems too risky at this point- especially since I can't guarantee more painting time over the next week and a half, seeing as I'll have family visiting and my Birthday coming up.

Concerning your vow... this is looked upon as a competition by many, but what it really should be seen as is motivation to put your best foot forward and complete a goal. You are putting so much detail and realism into your Macharius that perhaps you wouldn't have done otherwise (speculation, but hear me out) and it's because of the ETL that you have. Maybe you won't finish in time, but what you have done and what you have shown us has been a success in and of itself, and I'm glad I could read your updates. Keep it up man, and take your time. It'll be well worth it in the end.

I really do wish I could build and paint stuff faster. Especially the painting. Getting me motivated to build something has never been a problem, but painting? Ugh. I was mentally beating myself up for several days after I primed this thing to get the black undercoat down and then bust out the hairspray and airbrush to get the base coat done. In my defense though, I don't play and look on the models I build more as display pieces than something that I'll be hauling around from home to game and back again.

And seriously, bro, those WBs are some of the best I've seen. There's just enough color variation to be eye-catching, but not overdone or busy. They look great great individually, in a squad, and as a cohesive army.

Ninjaman, great use of the Death Guard contemptor. :)
