The Sea provides for Thee

Uprising

Update time:  Work has been sapping my hobby time(50 hrs week, and lots of travel).  I have been able to complete another horror(pics below), and worked on the 7 to a half way point.  The big guy himself is rough, making galaxy pattern on the wings is rough without an airbrush.  I hope to be finish in two weeks.

Secondly, a plea to my fellow chaos player/hobbyist.  If you have some tyranid genestealer heads with tentacles, please contact me.  I am looking to buy, or if gifted i will pay for shipping.

Third.  I have decide to take the Cthulhu spawn concept  and expand it.  I am looking to add some cultist,  deep sea monsters, and some more hero(heralds, cult leaders, etc).  I am open to model suggestion.  I also have no ideas what to use the models for.  Maybe i can use it for a silver tower count as, tzeentch army, fun models to paint, or get a display board made. I probably will not make this into a tabletop army, just a side passion army I add to.  Thats not a bad thing in my mind, I am having so much fun with them.  The event helps.

So in my quest to expand the force here is one of the models for vow two.  i have no idea what to vow them as, So I like some idea.

The siren.  She the size of a marine with a rock base.  The model is great and will be given a greenstuff crown.  I blame slave for showing the movie, it was great.

Thanks for reading

I know you have a big stompy sea monster, but I always liked this Kraken model. It fits with a sea theme.

There's also this Adepticon 2010 army.

I've always wanted to do a Nurgle Deep Sea themed army. Here's my bit list for Diver Marines, mixed with Chaos Space Marine box of course.

Marine Head - Diver Helmet http://maxmini.eu/conversion-bits/head-swaps/biohazard-heads-bits

Cultists/Daemon heads -

Marine Backpacks -

Hope those help if you're looking for bits.

I keep going back to my fun display army when I get bored of the norm. I have a Ork Circus themed army. Walkers are clowns, buggies are bumper cars, and my Big Meks are the ring master and bearded lady. If you're passionate about just looks instead of competitive gaming, you'll still have fun with the army.

@ RikuEru:  Whats a krakenspawn?

Nothing of canon, but I thought of the Kraken's on Fenris

And your... creations look just like Genestealer's would, if the Krakens really are of Tyranid origin. Hence: Krakenspawn.

And I have to repeat myself, great work. They really look creepycool.

This whole thread and idea is so cthuloid and lovecraftian. The last thing come to my mind would've been Pacific Rim. That's why STDs suggestion to watch 'Dagon' is so fitting. All things Lovecraft are welcome!

The LoC stand-in is Cthulhu himself, I really love the sculpt. And I love your finished 'Horrors' so far! If you don't know the works of H.P. Lovecraft, you should read 'The Shadow over Innsmouth' or google the term 'innsmouth look', that would be very fitting for your project.

Edit: scrolled again through the thread and I think you know your Lovecraft ;)

Just got back from finding dory. great film. Surprisingly, Cthulhu was in the film.

Maybe for a daemon prince there is a model that I just love, http://www.aradiaminiatures.com/apps/webstore/products/show/6199666

Is the link for him. It is a cool looking whale guy with a bird on him. A bit pricey but a fantastic model

Maybe a be'lakor. Let see how far the force goes. Thanks for the idea.

Thank you for the praise. Glad you like.

I am just a mere mortal compare to your thousand sons. I am not worthy, but thank you for the praise.

Truthfully, I don't know Cthulhu. I never read a lovecraft book(no idea where to start), and only know of him because of south park, some games, and internet memes/pics. My inspiration come from my love of the sea, my understanding of biology, and my dreams.

On that note, after I am done with my slyvaneth(tree people), flesh eater courts, Ironjawz, and underwater crons, I am going heavily in a khorne walker army. I see three brass scorpion, 12 maulersfiends, and some knights in a year or two. A brass stampede, a bloody pacific rim.

So ETL is complete, and I finish my vow.  Sadly, with my computer blowing up, I did not update my blog.  My apology, so here is my complete vow.

The future of this little side project: I plan to add another 10 horrors, and maybe some screamers.  Pics below!
