Hey all smile.png This thread will be the counterpart to my Night Lords company in the AoD, and the fledgeling Blood Ravens company, and provide a place for any random projects (hence the title laugh.png)

For now, this is going to be focused on both a diorama, and some daemons I have lying around. In the future, who knows? Maybe Grey Knights, maybe chaos, maybe even imperials!

But right now, a juggernaut, start of a bloodletter, beginning work on the diorama, and a truly scary idea for the angelic juggernaut...Enjoy biggrin.png As always, CnC most welcome.

The blue eyes look great, really nice choice of spot colour to contrast.

I concur with Pearson, the blue provides a really nice contrast.

Definitely wondering just what an "angelic juggernaut" is tongue.png

Thanks you two smile.png I'll admit, I saw someone else do the blue and chose it from that, but it certainly works well. Might make the 'flesh' bits slightly lighter as well, we'll see.

Angelic juggernaut, just look at the last picture! Who do you think comes flying out the clouds to take the dead bloodletters back to Khorne's 'heaven' tongue.png

Fantastic work on the juggernaut, the paintjob is really effective! The recipe for the Bloodletters seems serviceable enough as well, although I would argue that if you want to use drybrushing like that, yiu need to get rid of those moldlines a little more effectively ;)

The cracked magma bases are absolutely brilliant, btw: Any chance of a tutorial on the effect?

Angelic jugger is a promising enough idea, although I feel the Stormcast Eternal wings are slightly too delicate and stylised to fit the blunt, brutal design of the juggernaut.

Thanks biggrin.png Means a lot coming from a Khorne devotee like yourself. I agree with you on the bloodletter, I did it kinda sloppily for my usual standards :/ I'll see about fixing it up in the future, but it's certainly going to be a while before that unit hits the table laugh.png

The lava bases aren't actually my work (modelling, at least). They're from a rather nice small basing supplier - Dark Art Miniatures. If you're interested in the paintjob, it's almost the same as the one he provides on his site (however admittedly comes out worse) but with added glowing and drybrushing on the rock. If you're still interested in a tutorial, I'll see about doing one for the next bases smile.png

Yeah, it's rather a...contrast. Could always see about using them on a steed of slaanesh, but then they might be rather too large... Then again, they might just work on a dreadknight or other Marine unit.

Now, my store has had a ZM board lying around for a while, and we've finally come to the consensus we should paint it, so I tried my hand on one of the blast doors. I think it's come out well! I just don't know if I have it in me to do this for every single door there is... Comments and Criticisms welcome. Was my first time trying the kinda painted chipping effect, don't know how well it quite worked out.

The lights also could've come out better, but until I break out the airbrush don't think that'll be happening. Speaking of, soon you'll maybe even see some airbrushed stuff! Excited about the possibilities biggrin.png

I love everything about the blast door: the hazard stripes (and I don't often say that tongue.png), the aquilan, the red background it's bolted on... everything.

I don't like airbrushes personally; and that's not (only) because it's such a pain to store, install and clean up. It just feels soulless to me to paint a miniature without a brush.

(Key words: 'to me' tongue.png)

Thank you very much! :D Pleased you like it. Just need to add 'Section V-1' above the Aquila, chip it, then I'm done! (That side at least :P)

I've always had mixed feelings about airbrushes. I think they can be just another 'tool', but it's easy to overuse them, and lose the whole point of mini painting. The 'soul' sort of thing as you said. Having said that, they're certainly useful. I just don't regard someone who only uses them as highly as someone who can paint at the same level, only uses brushes. Nonetheless, working on a GK commission army, so the nemesis force swords will probably need the airbrush to get up to a good standard :/

Now, if I might ask your opinion on something (or anyone else reading this), what colours do you think I should do the ZM actual board part in, to kinda blend with the blast door. In particular, what colours should the floor tiles be, and what colours should the wall tiles be?

Alright, so, time to bring this back. A small project for a friend of mine, trying to freehand a picture onto a rhino door. Feedback/CnC always welcome. Looking to practise more freehand before I get round to working on some of my NL vehicles.

Skin to be done, lips, eyelids and right eye to be adjusted, and hair on the right to be brought into line with that on the left, along with loose hairs to be done. For what it's worth, hopefully you can see which woman in the picture I'm trying to go for laugh.png (Only blonde rather than red headed, at his request (IIIrd legion))
