A 2+ Invuln?

Hey Guys,

 

So, reading away and makign lists, I was looking at the Praetor...now

 

They can be upgraded with all of the following (Salamanders) Cataphracti Armour, Iron Halo and a Dragonscale Stormshield.

 

Reading their bonuses, Cata armour comes with a 2+/4++, Iron Halo confers a 4++ (would this be pointless, if so why have the option or would it bounce a 1+ to an already given 4++?) and the Stormshield brings it to a 3++ (would be 2++ if the before addition was true).

 

Can somebody please confirm this for me before i waste points.

Iron Halos are a flat Invulnerable. Cataphractii is a flat invulnerable.

 

Invulnerable saves do not stack unless noted like in the case of the Storm Shield.

 

There is literally no point in buying an Iron Halo if in Cataphractii.

 

If, however, you wanted a 3++ and the option to sweep, youd need an Iron Halo since Tartaros only has a 5++ which the shield would only buff to a 4++

 

Its also a way of giving a non-TDA Praetor a 3++ if they can take the shield without TDA.

 

In short, 2++ is not a thing.

If you put him near a Deredeo with a pavaise, you can get him to a 2+ invul. But that's a pretty risky strategy.
