I just got this game (hopefully no necro) and can I just say that the computer seems to love giving all the good rolls to the tyranids? even with target locked and other re-rolls I always seem to fail while the tyranids pass every single darned Brace for impact save, even against a crapton of torpedos?

My brother in law thinks the dice are against him on his version as well, I completed the game without losing a battle so they were obviously on my side for my games. Over a lot of games it should even out?

I mean I usually win too, but i'm not as effetive as I would like.

it's just annoying as hell when a wave of 6 torpedoes goes through 5 tyranid vanguard escorts, one after the other, and I never roll a 5+ on all 5 escorts with 6 dice.

Sorry to necro this thread, folks.

I just saw this game on the app store and without hesitation bought it. Should have read the reviews first and come here with any questions.

Basically I am wondering if anyone is having problems with the game? Like the reviews on the app store (Apple, I have a 6+) my game stops working after you get the results of firing on a ship in the tutorial. Happened to me twice. Decided I should just relearn BFG the hard way by playing skirmish but I can't without doing the training. I haven't tried the campaign yet as I just set my phone down and walked away.

Anyone know of any fixes or should I just play the campaign and move along?

**Update/Edit**

Ok, it just took an hour some of just slowly playing and replaying the first tutorial mission. Now I have another problem when it is the enemy turn. Basically, in their movement phase if they come into contact with ordinance the game freezes again. This time no amount of waiting helps.

So there's that now. Seriously, if it wasn't for so much freezing and if they threw in some more races this would be a really great game.

i-Apple anything sucks everything, that's the problem.

I've never had an issue with the game on my android device. If your issue isn't one that has been fixed, then more likely it is a problem with your device. Could be lack of memory, specs too low, itunes/phone out of date, etc.

It does seem like a lot of people are having your same problem though. I'll fire up mine and see if I have any issues.

[edit] Well, looks like I got saddled with the same poop as everyone else. Pretty lame I must say. Glad I finished the campaign months ago...I'll definitely send the devs a nudge.

If it weren't for the 10 dollar price tag this would be an instant buy, I love 'crons. Unfortunately all the good games for 40k cost a fair amount; I'm just lucky I got Deathwatch for free on free app of the week a year or so ago.

I recently finished the Space Marine and Imperial campaigns.  As an old school tabletop player (tabletop BFG has long been my favorite miniatures game) I was impressed.  This smart phone does a great job capturing the feel of the tabletop:  how frustrating it is to screw up when trying to reload ordnance on you Mars cruiser, how surprising it can be when your glass cannon Dauntless light cruiser explodes, and how rewarding it can be to set up a sweet broadside volley on an opponent with your Retribution battleship.

The AI is not the greatest but its decent for the $10 I spent.  It's too bad no one plays the tabletop BFG anymore though.

No-one plays tabletop BFG anymore?

Actually there are indeed people still playing it. And i got so into the Shield of Ball campaign that i'm running a campaign set in it's immediate aftermath.

I'm also quite enjoying the electronic version on my tablet, it does seem a very close approximation.

Just downloaded the game to my iPad. Looks like the Necron update happened but I am starting from the beginning as I originally tried this game on my phone.

Also, knock on wood, the game has yet to freeze on me. I do not know if they patched it or if it operates better on the iPad compared to the phone but I am a very happy camper now.

I'm finding the necron fleet hard to get to grips with. They're quite fragile, having no shields, but they're fast, and the weapons seem unpredictable: sometimes I'll throw a dozen dice and not scratch my target, others I'll destroy a battleship in a single volley.

Having no ordnance really hits me too, I'm normally a torpedo junkie.

I found the missions a bit too easy, even the last one where I forgot the star pulse doesn't work on aaf and ended up with my tombship cut off and surrounded by gribblies was an easy win. Def inspiring me to get a necron fleet together for the table :)

New update is out for this game. Chaos fleets have been added.

Guess that's me out of action for the next day or so.

SAY WHAAAATTT?! Need to re-download this again!

*never mind, cannot find it on the app store. Even in the search function when I start to type in "battlefleet gothic" the autocomplete shows the full title name and when I click it the game does not show up.
