Years ago I started a Sisters of Battle army, I documented my progress on the old Warseer forum. That seems to be down now, and by chance I started reading up on the Sisters of Battle content on the Bolter & Chainsword forums.  The project never got very far, I was distracted by other things and lost interest in wargaming and  Warhammer40k for a while.

I have been painting quite a lot of historical figures these last few years, Romans, Macedonians, some World War II things.. the list goes on. I have tried getting back into Warhammer40k when a local store opened up a year ago, but my Blood Angels didn't prove very interesting.

But my Sisters of Battle army, that is something I can strip the stuff I did previously and if I pick an easy paint scheme get an army on the table fully painted. Sounds like a plan!

My old army was quite colourful as this figure shows:

What I'm thinking is going for a dark grey armour with gold details and red robes. The weapons I will probably do in grey also.

I'm going to be following this thread with great interest as I've had a grey-centric scheme in mind for some time but haven't really been able to make it come together in practice. I certainly like the look of the set-up you have planned.

Thank you guys for showing an interest already. I hope the hot weather doesn't last too long so the painting can begin.

Grey and white are good for sisters

Thank you Davian, better than red and blue ;-)

Thank you Brightstar, using the paint planning tool is the easy part. I use almost exclusively Vallejo paints and have quite a collection of different shades of grey. I think the first issue will be to decide on how dark (or light) the grey armour will actually be.

I was also toying with maybe doing a 'lacquer' finish on the armour, like the distinctive armour used by Japanese samurai.

I actually (kinda) like the blue red theme.

Although, you're probably right to change it.

That grey and red scheme you are planning looks sharp.

Yeah, the blue and red isn't bad I guess. Not very grimdark, I think that is what bothers me about it.
